Chapter Text
His heart was pounding, he could feel it in his brain.
THUMP
THUMP
THUMP
His hunger was so heavy completely overtaking his senses.
'Great' He thought to himself as he walk down the fire escape, he quickly changed into civil clothing.
His mind went blank after that point, he only regained control over his body as he walked in his flat and he put his groceries on the counter.
He looked into the fridge and found some red meat in the fridge, he didn't quite remember when he bought it, but it must have been quite recently seeing as it still fresh 'I might as well, since it doesn't smell funky' which is probably one of the most irresponsible things he could have done but oh well, since when he was the type to care about his health.
He looked around and found an old cook book he didn't recognise it but as soon as he saw the writing he know where it came from
He saw a recipe that he held dearly the last romani dish he ever ate, before his parents death, Sax suklo although he wasn't a great cook and he didn't have pork or chicken, he decided to make it with the meat he already had.
After cooking the thing, he realised that even though the meat was red it tastes oddly like pork.
He shed some tears, remembering the warm atmosphere of what used to be his home.
Because of that he didn't question the taste of his supposedly red meat.
After that he decided to make some tea following his memories and added slices of strawberries and peaches.
He took the tea and he rested it on the coffee table.
He lied down on his sofa and covered himself with his warmest blanket, he sat there and looked at the ceiling occasionally looked at the steam that flowed from the cup.
Even though he missed the taste he couldn't make himself drink it, he felt depressed even though he was happy just a moment ago.
Dick was used to such mood swings but this one had hit him alot harder since he was feeling nostalgic just a second ago.
He hated those, but as much as he hated them he couldn't do anything about them.
So he just laid there, alone, cold and scared?
He felt as if he was watched, maybe he was.
He was never alone

The next day, at the police station Rohrbach told him that when he had a day off yesterday they had found a body.
It's was the third body with the same M.O
Officially meaning they were looking for a serial killer.
The victim's had missing pieces of their bodies and organs, they were all young adults and ginger.
But it seems that the killer didn't have a preference for gender, nor was he sexually assaulting his victim's.
The killer made sure that the victim's will see him, he wants to be seen that they were sure of, but what the fuck was his goal was he a sadist? No most of the cuts were post-mortem, a sadist would take his time this one was different he didn't hold them long enough for them to even be reported missing .
Dick hearing the details could only thing that this is like something straight out of a dexter books or the criminals minds.
He thought he could handle it, I mean in his line of work and the whole vigilante ordeal he has seen his fair share of dead bodies, But this was different Dick recognised the people from somewhere at the back of his mind maybe he has once saved them or something like this?
Dick couldn't help but feel goosebumps at the sight, but honestly most of the precinct has puked at the sight.
At that moment Dick thought 'this is almost artistic' the way the victim's were posed was almost like they are preforming .
"I swear to god we are gonna get this Bastard." Amy proclaimed.
"Yes, we will." Dick anwsered .
Had he known at the time what will happen he would thrown himself into arkham.

After work, he blacked out again, he doesnt remember when or how he got there just that he suddenly appeared at his flat with a bag of meat.
'Well this is creepy, there a serial killer and im going nuts' he thought to himself as he opened the door to his flat.
He checked the phone noticing a message.
[Tim: dont forget about dinner at the manor today. -Tim]
[Dick: dont worry i haven't.]
He did infact completely forget, he decided to put the meat into the fridge, so it wont spoil.
After which he quickly took a shower and put on a fresh change of clothes,
while driving his motorbike he started thinking about his new serial killer.
'Should I tell Bruce?' That was the question.
After which a car horn snapped him back making him notice the beautiful sunset.
It reminded him of his friends hair: Kori, Wally, Roy and Barbara.
The different shades of orange making him remember how beautiful the sunsets were when he was in the circus, actually
there were many orange things there.
He loved the colour orange, it was gorgeous and its looks great with other colours.
If someone asked he would probably say its his favourite.

Dick finally arrived at the manor he knocked on the door and they opened.
"Welcome Master Dick, please come inside."
Dick entered, he always felt watched in the manor it got worse after Jasons death, though now he knows its not about Jason as Jasons alive.
Sometimes he swears that he sees eyes looking at him from the walls and the ceiling.
He wouldn't mind this except lately it became harder to ignore.
Finally arriving to the dining room Dick saw everyone waiting for him.
"Hi guys, sorry for being late the roads were so busy this evening. "
His family acknowledge his existence, and went back to their food.
"Sit down." Bruce commanded and Dick listened.
It was quiet and akward, the only sound in the room being of the cutlery scratching the plates.
"So how's Blue Dickward?" Jason asked
"It's okay... I guess not really, we are dealing with a serial killer currently."
Dick took a bite of his steak.
'Weird, its tastes nothing like the one i cooked yesterday, well I probably just suck at cooking.'
Dick didn't pay this thought any more time.
Maybe he should had...
The dinner went quietly and as awkward as one would expect.
Dick decided to stay the night at the manor, since he was too tired to drive back to Blüdhaven.
He travelled through the dark corridor mindlessly.
"Hey, Dick"
Someone called thought Dick couldn't really tell who, he looked around yet there was no one there
"Dont ignore me, Dickie" he said
Dick finally saw him 'this is strange, he wasn't here a second ago'.
"Hey, do you need anything?"
Dick looked at him
"Um , Dick who are you talking to?"
Duke asked.
Dick turned toward him and looked back.
"Huh"
Dick smiled
"Dont worry about it" he said and went farther the dark corridor.
'That was really weird, is that what rich folks are like?' Duke thought to himself and left
