This is Not What I Meant by Spicing My Life Up

Summary:

Kim Dokja always thought his life didn't mean anything until TWSA ended and the worlds started to blur together.

Now... it's getting a little strange seeing people who shouldn't have existed in real life suddenly appear in his life.

Slow updates

Notes:

I know I should be focusing on writing my solo leveling crossover, but like y'all I got sucked into ORV fanfics when I put the damn manhwa on hold for 3 years so I could wait for the chapters... and I recently just caught up to all the chapters available on webtoon and I cried hard.

Anyways. Um... no I will not be paying anyone for commissions, I'm a certified NEET. The only thing I've done in the past year was get my high school diploma at age 29.

Comments are welcomed. Just don't be mean about it.

First chapter is going to be a little short cause this is my first ORV fic.. just getting a feel for the characters. So, if I get something wrong... please let me know, deal??

Chapter Text

Kim Dokja really wasn't the type to go out of his way to help others or look at people in the eyes, but when the screen on his phone flashed black and the subway suddenly looked like a horror film... well, he looked up and swallowed as he recognized the boots of someone who is not supposed to be here.

He didn't realize who it was exactly as he stared up and his face paled as he mouthed in shock and surprise, 'Yoo Joonghyuk.'

The man before him looked just as confused and startled. Wondering why there was no dokkaebi, no blue screens, no... deaths in the subway. It looked normal...

Kim Dokja stood up quickly as he inhaled sharply when the subway trained stopped suddenly as it let people out and in. He watched with caution as Yoo Joonghyuk realized something was wrong.

When he saw the man reach into his pocket is when Kim Dokja actively walked closer to him and lightly touched his shoulder, "Please don't." He spoke quietly if not a little softer than he should have, but it caught the taller male's attention.

"You. Who are you?" Kim Dokja shivered at the man's deep tone. Suspicious and wary.

"Uh... someone who knows but doesn't know you?" The fact his voice cracked from his unintentional fear meant nothing when the man glared at him. He quivered as he coughed in the back of his throat. "I... what I mean... um reverse isekai?" His eyes widened as he squeaked out softly.

Yoo Joonghyuk looked to be debating something before he stared at the smaller man, "You know me?"

Kim Dokja nodded hesitantly. Not quite ready for this conversation in the middle of a subway cab.

The other man narrowed his eyes, "We'll get off at the next stop."

Kim Dokja shifted nervously as he nodded and looked down at his dress shoes. Completely aware of the taller, more attractive than air man staring at him as if he was drilling holes into his brain. He was glad the next stop was technically his stop anyways.

*~~~~~~~~~*

The silence between the two men was agonizing. Kim Dokja tried hard not to be seen like such a fan from meeting his most wanted protagonist. Admittedly, it was harder than it looked. However, he was rather good at pasting a believable smile and hiding his normally dead blank eyes to the rest of the world.

"Explain."

Kim Dokja missed a step but got it back quickly as he continued to walk towards his trashy apartment... Oh... this is going to be embarrassing to show his favorite protagonist his apartment!

He coughed once in his hand, "Um... so I uh... read about you?" His voice cracked again in hopes that he didn't really show his fear too much... who was he kidding... his fear is evident.

"You... read... about me?" Kim Dokja looked up at the taller male and nodded as he bit his bottom lip. "And yet, you said something about reverse isekai."

Kim Dokja frowned as he sighed heavily, feeling tired all of a sudden. Why did he have to do that?

"Won't you tell me?" The man stopped walking and leaned down as he faced Kim Dokja.

Kim Dokja whined in the back of his throat as he opened his phone and gave it to Yoo Joonhyuk; when he felt it leave his hands, he shuffled his feet as he looked at sidewalk and the ants crawling as the younger male read the web-novel... or the chapter that had just finished.
