Work Text:
Link was an early riser, often beating the sun’s arrival. Spending his time meticulously getting ready for his day.
Not a second could be wasted in Link’s eyes. Ever since Zelda came back into his life, he felt the need to cherish every second.
Every morning Zelda would wake up to the smell of eggs simmering and the sounds of fruit being chopped.
Zelda loved Link, she loved how much he cared for her. She loved his soft smile and his rough hands. Anything Zelda needed, Link could conquer the duty.
Zelda never truly asked Link for anything. He was prone to noticing everything. So there was no need.
Some would say Link was aloof but Zelda knew the truth. Link would get so hyper focused on certain things. It was like the outside world didn’t matter.
Above all, Link’s focus was Zelda. Nothing could compare to his love for his princess.
Zelda loved the pampering and could never say no to Link. She understood this was his way of showing love.
Sometimes Zelda did try to get Link to relax. Subtle nods to a chair or an offer to cook dinner.
No matter how much Zelda tried to get Link to relax, there was no reasoning with him. It was a never ending battle.
Though today was different. As the sun started to rise upon Hyrule, Link’s eyes fluttered open. There was no Zelda beside him in bed.
As Link took in his surroundings, a smile crept on his face. There was Zelda, coming through the front door. With a basket of fruit and flowers in hand.
As Link started to move out of bed, Zelda could hear the rustling.
“Link, don’t you dare get out of that bed.”
Link stumbled backwards at the sound of Zelda’s stern voice. Falling right back into bed.
Lying flat on his back, Link could hear Zelda making her way up their home’s stairs.
“Link, today, just for today, let me take care of you”
Zelda approached the bed and laid beside Link. Link turned on his side and stared into Zelda’s eyes.
Zelda brought her hand to Link’s face and with and soft whisper.
“Please”
A small smile crept upon Link’s face and a nod accompanied it.
Zelda laid a brisk kiss on Link’s lips and rushed back down the stairs to continue her work.
Link adjusted himself in bed, turning his body, allowing his head to properly lay on his pillow.
Link listened to Zelda mull around the kitchen. The calming noise of soft steps and whisks stirring.
Before Link knew it, darkness engulfed his eyes.

As Link stirred awake, he could feel Zelda walking close to their bed.
“My love, breakfast is ready.”
Link wiped the sleep from his eyes and followed Zelda to their dining table.
The table was covered in pancakes, eggs, fruit, and cheeses. The flowers Zelda had picked in the middle of it all.
Link took in the site, his eyes following to the end of the table. Where Zelda stood.
Zelda looked at Link with a smile.
“Today, you are going to relax, okay?”
