Dream’s learned that five years can show you a lot. Families and abusers, love and abandonment, honesty and deceit, and so much of the cold. Bone-chilling cold that seeps into the inside of his small, blobby body in a way that makes him ache for the warmth of even the cruelest forms of love.
The cold didn’t bother him too much, however. After all, it led him to find a new family.
And man, this family was about to take him on a wild ride.

"So, uh." Tommy coughed once into his sweater, red with a blue heart sewn onto the left chest area. "Why am I here again?"
"We haven't talked much since...y'know." Tubbo might've been avoiding eye contact, but Tommy couldn't really tell since the slight tilt of his head could be Tubbo trying to see better from his good eye, or completely relying on his bad eye to avoid eye contact. "I just wanted to hang out with you. Here. Like old times."
"It won't be like old times," Tommy corrected, his wings shifting behind his back.
"I know." Tubbo shrugged, Tommy acutely aware of the sound his jacket made when he moved. "But it doesn't have to be."

Tommy is invited to hang out with Tubbo, Ranboo, and Michael for the afternoon, a break from being busy doing whatever Tommy does. Tommy is tired, but he accepts. He has missed hanging out with his friends anyway.

He nods, certain that she would. [There are skills in shoemaking that take a while to master, but you would.]
“But would I be different, Link?”

“Have you threatened every person in this castle?” She hissed. “Because I haven’t heard a word of my incompetence in three and a half weeks, and only after tricking some poor unfortunate footman into speaking halfway ill of me does he break down nearly into tears and beg me to please not tell you what he’s said.”
A faint pink blushed onto the tips of his ears. He didn’t say anything, but he didn’t have to. It was an unwilling admission of guilt.
“Would you prefer they gossip about you, Your Highness?” His eyes lifted back to hers only when he finished speaking, and for a single moment, she was frozen under his stare. He had asked in sincerity, without any disingenuousness.
The audacity, to ask such a question. “No,” she said, her voice falling flat. Insulting, that a man who so rarely used his voice could so easily put her in her place with it. He hadn’t even really meant to.
For just a moment, she stared at him, waiting for him to lord his victory over her as he had so well earned. But instead he just kept staring earnestly at her, as if it were her turn to disclose, as if she was the one holding out on him.
Finally, blessedly, he spoke again. “What would you have me do instead?”

In which Hunter gets a little too sucked into the exciting world of owning a scroll and a little too fond of the girl he can now contact via said scroll. But Hunter is no fool. He is very aware of the people Willow Park is associated with; enemies of the Emperor's coven, like the Owl Lady and her Human. So, he doesn't intend to get too carried away with this whole friendship thing, he'll just stick to texting and....
Oh. He has bumped into her in town and she's eager to say hi. Well, that's....fine.
