Summary
Change is coming to Dorley Hall. Slowly, and with a great deal of complaining, but it is coming nonetheless. While they are still a long way from being a 'charitable' organisation, the selection process is becoming more... particular about what kind of boy finds themself waking up in one of those small, concrete cells.
Seen primarily through the eyes of one of these boys, this is a look at a (slightly) less coercive Dorley, and an intake that is a little different from those previous.
This story remains canon-faithful through book 4, and is set three years ahead of the original work so minor spoilers occur from chapter 2 onwards. It does also inevitably get a little dark on occasion, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise to Dorley readers. In general it's much nicer than the Dorley in the original story, though.
