"The drunken make outs started in middle school. Jackie said that it was just what best friends did, and there was nothing wrong with having fun, which Shauna just took for the truth. She wasn’t sure if she believed it, but she wasn’t going to tell Jackie she thought it was weird, either. It was fun and honestly it felt like everything Shauna could ever want. Nothing came of it until fucking Jeff Sadecki took Jackie on a date freshman year. Shauna had been furious. She cried and threw her notebooks, clothes and whatever else she could find across the room. The whole time they were at the movies, Shauna was in tears. Jackie had Jeff drop her back off at Shauna’s instead of her own house, and they spent the rest of the night very sober and all over each other."
