Work Text:
In the cosy dim light of Harumasa’s apartment, the atmosphere was filled with a comfortable silence, broken only by the occasional sound of tapping as both Harumasa and Lighter scrolled through their phones.
Harumasa’s legs lounged across Lighter’s lap, keeping the man sat in place unwillingly, while his head rested comfortably against the arm of the sofa. Lighter had voiced his protests about their sitting position at first, but Harumasa was quick to dismiss them.
“How are you feeling now?” Lighter’s voice disturbed the silence though it failed to tear Harumasa’s eyes away from his phone. “Do you need anything?”
Silence.
“Hey.”
A squeeze to the kneecap that was sprawled over his lap was enough to break Harumasa’s concentration, with a bonus squeak to go with it.
“Don’t!”
“I’m talking to you.”
“Well, talk better. Don’t abuse me.” Harumasa pouted, adjusting his legs a little to fix the disruption. “What do you want?”
“I was asking how you’re feeling now,” Lighter placed down his phone, his attention now fully on the other male as their eyes locked.
“Oh. Fine, I guess. Still tired.” Harumasa’s eyes shifted back to the phone in his hand. “Don’t know if I have the energy to do much tonight though, I’m afraid.”
“Figured as much. You were barely standing when you came through the door.”
“Yeah, well, work was a lot today,” Harumasa’s shoulders gave a small shrug. “Sorry if that disappoints you.”
“Nah, it’s fine.”
Harumasa blinked at him. “Really?”
“It happens. Besides, you turn into a grumpy bitch when you’re tired, anyway.” Lighter’s smirk grew once he saw the exasperated look upon Harumasa’s face. “Probably for the best we don’t do anything tonight.”
“That better be a joke or you’re sleeping on the balcony tonight.”
Lighter burst into a chuckle using a hand to gently pat Harumasa’s leg. “Sure, sure.”
The comfortable silence fell upon them once again but was broken by the sound of Harumasa’s laughter. Lighter looked up from his phone over to the smiling male, who could barely contain his giggles.
“What’s funny?”
“Oh, nothing.”
Lighter was about to drop it when another giggle filled the quiet air.
“Doesn’t sound like nothing. What is it?”
Harumasa only shook his head as he made a conscious effort to straighten his lips to stop his giggles, failing miserably as his body shook a little.
Lighter narrowed his eyes from behind his glasses. Intrigued, he decided to tease Harumasa until he got his answers and looked down to the socked feet on the other side of his lap, alone and defenceless.
He wondered, was Harumasa ticklish there?
For research purposes, he reached over and let his fingers dance lightly along the soles of Harumasa’s feet, eliciting another round of startled giggles from him. Bingo!
“Ah! – Whahat are yohou dohoing!” Harumasa kicked his feet to try and bat away the offending fingers. “Gehehet ohoff!”
“You’ve been ignoring me a whole lot tonight,” Lighter used a hand to grip onto one of his kicking ankles and wiggled his fingers along the bottom of it. Harumasa squealed, yes squealed, which Lighter took a mental note of for later, as he tickled the trapped foot. “I wonder if you can ignore me if I keep doing this, hm?”
“Aha! – I hahaven’t ignored yohou once!”
“Now you’re lying to me too. Shame.” Lighter had to halt the tickling on his foot once Harumasa’s free leg got a bit too close to his face as it kicked rapidly. Instead, he released the ankle and pounced his fingers into the raven-haired male’s sides.
Harumasa curled up in defence, his cackles filling the room as he weakly tried to bat away Lighter’s fingers. They pinched and prodded Harumasa’s lithe body pulling out his laughter until it became high pitched.
“Yohou’re gohohonna kihill mehehe!” Harumasa gasped through desperate laughter and Lighter noted how his laughs started to become wheezy. As much as he loved teasing and hearing Harumasa laugh like this, he didn’t want to harm him in any way and this couldn't be doing any good to his already weak lungs.
He slowed his tickles down to small and gentle rubs up and down his sides, gently shushing him. “Alright, you’re ok. Breathe, breathe.”
Harumasa’s giggles eventually died down, a lot of coughing and heavy wheezing during the process before a weak punch was thrown to Lighter’s shoulder. He chuckled.
“What was that for?”
“For being a jerk.” Harumasa pouted once again. “I could have died, I’ll have you know.”
“You were the one ignoring me,” Lighter countered. “And quit being a drama queen, I wouldn’t have gone that far.”
“Hmph.”
“Want me to buy us dinner?”
“Hmph.”
“I’ll tickle you again.”
Harumasa held up his hands defensively. “Now that you mention it, I could go for some dinner!”
Lighter chuckled. “I thought you might.”
