“Sirius has insulted our family for the last time. He spends all of his time running about with filth and blood traitors. He is a stain upon our Most Ancient and Noble House, and he has proven once more tonight that he has no place on our family tree! We promised the Dark Lord the fealty of an Heir to the House of Black, but Sirius is not our only option.”
Sirius feels his heart stutter to a stop.
The tension in the room seems to boil over as everyone turns to look directly at the second son of the House of Black.

This is a story I've wanted to read so badly that I've decided to take a crack at writing it. What would've happened if Sirius hadn't Ran, and instead stepped up as Heir for Regulus' sake? Will it spare Regulus from his canon fate? Or will it just damn them both?
