when justice has her eyes wide open

Summary:

Chat Blanc is tired of not having his real princess – Princess Justice.

He only has one option: retrieve the Miracle Box, steal an akuma, and use Bunnyx’s Burrow to portal to a Marinette from another timeline.

Child’s play.

Work Text:

“I’m late, I’m late, I’m late!” Marinette yelled at herself, speeding her way down the street despite Tikki’s protests to slow down. Waking up on time for school had never been easy for her, and that morning was no different. “Can’t stop, Tikki, I’m–”

A white circle opened above her, forcing her to skid to a stop in the middle of a crosswalk. This portal stank of Miraculous magic, and it was only after Marinette narrowed her eyes at it that she realized it was one of Bunnyx’s.

“Bunnyx?” Marinette shielded her eyes, wondering what Alix needed from her now. Did Chat Noir get–

A white figure with rabbit ears and ice-blue eyes dove out, tackling her to the ground and straddling her hips with his powerful thighs. The impact of her back smacking the road knocked the wind out of her.

He held her shoulders down with an impossibly strong arm jammed across her collarbones, his other fist clenched behind him. As she thrashed under him, her shirt rode up, and her back bloomed with stinging road rash.

The pain didn’t hurt as much as the anger shining in his eyes.

“C-Chat Blanc!” Marinette shrieked, which was a mistake, as Chat lunged, slamming his previously clenched fist over her mouth, his fingers digging into the hollows of her cheeks. “Mmph!”

When she felt something move in her mouth, Marinette gagged against his hand. Bile flooded her throat, competing with the sour taste and awful texture of large wings flapping madly about on her palate.

She redoubled her efforts to get him off her, arching her back and kicking her legs.

“Swallow it,” Chat hissed, freezing her in place. Marinette panted against him, unable to get enough air. The akuma–because that’s what it undoubtedly was–in her mouth traveled down her throat against her will, making her choke.

No! No! Marinette railed against him in her mind, even as the purple bubbles flowed cold and deadly over her. No! I c-can’t!

Peace filled her then. Peace and a strange, confused male voice. “Oh? Who’s this? I didn’t send you.”

“This is Princess Justice,” she responded, causing Chat to nod in satisfaction and release her, helping her to her feet with all his grace. “I’m coming for you, Hawkmoth.”

Chat reached into the Burrow and pulled out her own Miracle Box. Princess Justice was not remotely surprised.

“Hello, Chat Blanc,” Justice purred, stroking his cold, pale cheek. He leaned into the touch. “Have you been waiting long?”

His gruff, needy voice shattered her heart like spun sugar. “So long, My Lady.” He knelt before her, placing the Miracle Box at her feet and resting his loosely closed fist on his chest. “I am yours to pass judgment on. Do what you will with me.”

Justice giggled, pressing a kiss to his forehead. “Not on you, silly. You are my ever-faithful knight.” Justice gestured with her free hand, splaying her fingers in the sun. “But the people of Paris? This city that took me for granted?”

An awful smile curved her lips. “Oh, yes. I will pass judgment.”

Chat Blanc’s chest shuddered with repressed emotion. “Just don’t abandon me! Don’t leave me alone anymore…”

“No, pet,” Justice replied, her heart going to him. She cradled his cheeks in her red-gloved hands and kissed the corner of his mouth. “I will never abandon you.”

He stood, nodding, and threw his arms around her, burying his nose in her hair to take a great whiff. Laughing, she patted his back, happy until she caught sight of Chat Noir vaulting towards them using his baton. His expression was a blend between alarmed and murderous.

“Oh, look,” she murmured, turning Chat Blanc to face his blacker counterpart. “Company.”

“I’ll take care of it.”

Chat Blanc lifted his hand, summoning an electric ball of white energy. Grasping his wrist, he let loose a shock of Cataclysmic power, vaporizing Chat Noir where he stood and destroying half the street.

The panicked, shocked expression fixed on Chat Noir’s ash statue was delicious. Justice strolled over to it, poking his cheek to watch his blackened body dissolve in the air.

“Bye-bye, Chaton.” Giggling, Justice was shocked to feel a tear rolling down her cheek. She wiped it away, surprised by the red smear on her fingertips.

Chat Blanc sauntered over and wrapped a protective arm around her shoulders. “Why are you crying?”

“I… I don’t know.”
