“I might be gone for a long time,” Odysseus warned his wife. “I hope I am the only man for you, even while I’m away.”
Penelope rolled her eyes with a grin on her face. “Of course my faithful husband, you are the only man for me, just as I am the only woman for you.”
They exchanged knowing glances, longing for more time together. Pressing a kiss to Odysseus's forehead, she added, “But neither of us need to be lonely in our time apart, do we?”
