Summary
After picking herbs and tossing them into her basket, she stumbled upon a unique flower. It stood alone among a wide variety of others, its rarity made all the more striking by the abundance surrounding it.
The flower was white with golden hues, spurred petals resembling a tiny dancer or lantern. Heart-shaped leaves with serrated edges framed its base. Cautiously, Maomao sniffed it. The aroma was earthy and bitter—disappointingly unremarkable.
“Epimedium brevicornum flower was prized for boosting libido, enhancing fertility, and invigorating ‘yang’ energy. It was used as a stimulant for both men and women and was frequently combined with other herbs to provide a warming, stimulating effect.” Maomao read out loud but not so loudly that the eunuch guarding there could hear (it was quite inappropriate, after all)“Well, it’s nothing that interests me. What would I do with a flower that increases sexual desires?” Maimao groaned quietly, staring up at the ceiling. Despite her internal protest, her curiosity is stronger than her opposition.
“I guess there’s no harm in making a stimulant from it,” she thought to herself while grinning slightly.
