Summary
“Ever since I got back you’ve been…weird?” Eddie tries to explain, the sentence coming out like a question. “A little distant but just…I don’t know another way to describe it other than weird,” he says. Buck just stares. Eddie glances down, instantly seeing the way Buck’s hands were shaking. “Buck, please,” he almost begs, not being able to take it. “What is it?”
“I love you,” Buck blurts, his eyes going even wider, and slapping a hand over his mouth. Eddie’s mouth parts slightly, not having expected that. His mind had been racing with hundreds of different possible outcomes. “Shit,” Buck curses, shaking his head, as his hand drops to his lap. He’s staring at Eddie, his face contorted in absolute fear. “I didn’t…I promise-“
Eddie cuts him off by kissing him. He couldn’t take another second of Buck’s terrified expression, or the rambling that Buck was bound to go on. His brain and his heart couldn’t handle this going any other way. He didn’t really know why or how he ended up kissing Buck – his best friend in the entire world. The person he loves most, outside of Chris. But Buck confessed his love and then looked horrified. Eddie couldn’t deal with that. So, he had kissed him.
