   “Hm?” Remus said, fully focused on Sirius and everything he said, everything he did.

   “My name, Sirius, it’s a star.” Oh, right, he knew that. “Brightest star in the sky, actually,” Sirius said with a sad smile.

   “The dog star,” Remus whispered faintly, “I believe that.”

   “What do you believe?”

   Remus moved his gaze from the sky to Sirius’ face. “That you’re the brightest star in the sky.”

   Remus Lupin is doing great. He loves his town, he does well in school, and he has his best friend, Lily Evans, with him pretty much constantly. So what if he struggles to let anyone in? So what if he constantly feels like a burden? It’s fine. He’s fine. But when he meets Sirius Black in a book store he has to confront everything he’s been repressing all this time. He has to learn that maybe it’s okay to let people in. He has to learn to let himself feel.
