Hyunjin used to call me a phoenix (and made the extra effort to force a bit of my Australian accent for the entire sentence) all the time. He called me phoenix instead of my name.
Because I hated the name that was given to me. I hated all of what I used to be.
Except the person I was when I was with him.
He told me I was a phoenix because eventually that me would die, but then, I’d be born again from the ashes, prettier than ever, mightier than ever.
He called me his pretty phoenix because he thought I had enough warmth in me to become a human-sized flame.
His tongue just happened to roll that one bit that night. He called me his Felix and not his phoenix.
