Work Text:

Tyler Hernandez sat at his desk in class. His chin rested on his hand as he tried to fight the urge to sleep. His eyes felt so heavy but he couldn't get another detention for sleeping in class. His baseball couch said one more detention and he's off the team. He couldn't have that. He started to wish that he had kept walking, but it's not everyday you get to save your crush.

You see, Tyler go bit by a spider and now his a hero around his city. The only person to know was his twin sister, Taylor, who made him some web shooters. He swung around alto, Georgia, saving people. He normally stayed up late helping people, but last night he wanted to get home early since he had a game today.

Key words; wanted to.

He was too tired to try to swing to his apartment, so he was walking around in his Spidey suit. On his walk he saw a beautiful blonde boy getting his backpack snatched. The boy chased the thief, but somehow the thief out ran him. Tyler knew the blonde boy. It was Aiden Clark, a boy from his class. Now, if this was just any boy from his class, he wouldn't have saved him. However, this boy had kinda forced a friend group onto him. With Taylor's help of course.

After a project, Aiden had insisted on being best friends. So Ashlyn, Logan, and Tyler were stuck. The reason Ben wasn't stuck was because well that his cousin, and Taylor had agreed with Aiden immediately. However, just being in the friend group wasn't enough to get saved by Tyler. If it were Ash, Logan, or Ben. He would have kept walking to get home on time.

Tyler had somehow found himself crushing over the blonde boy. His bickering, his smile, his eyes, contacts in and out, And so much more. So when Tyler saw someone trying to rob Aiden, he took action.

He pressed down on the button on his wrist. Shooting a web that perfectly caught the thief, then pulled him to him.

"What are you doing with that boy's bag?" Tyler asked. The thief looked quite calm.

"Arachnid, it's mine sir." The thief said. Tyler examined the backpack. It was black with A.C. embroidered on the small pocket. A happy face patched sewed on and a matching water bottle. "What are your initials, sir?" Tyler, or in this case arachnid, asked. "R.D? Why?" Tyler smirked.

Tyler stuck the thief to a lamp post, and grabbed the bag. "You see this bag belongs to an A.C. who isn't you." Tyler said, as he turned around to Aiden. "Aid- sir I assume these are your initials?" Tyler handed Aiden the bag. Aiden's normal smile was still stuck to his face, but he seemed greatful. "Yes sir! Aiden Clark." He said, grabbing the bag and putting it on his back. Tyler nodded, noticing that this moron didn't catch him almost saying his name.

"As for you," Tyler stated, turning back to the thief "I already pressed the button on my suit that notifys the police. Have fun." He knew that neither of them could see Tyler smirk, but he did yet again. His mask cover his face quite well. The thief was quiet as he stuck to the pole.

Tyler started walking the direction of his house, before he remembered Aiden. He looked back to see Aiden staring at him with a smile. "Anything else I can help you with- what was it again? Aiden?" The blonde nodded and walked over to Tyler. "You know, I'm still a bit worried. I just got robbed and all. Will you walk me home?" He asked, his smile Bright. Tyler was already so tired, but he agreed because he's a simp.

Luckily, Aiden didn't live far. Tyler walked him to the door. "Good night arachnid!" Aiden said while walking through the door "sleep well!" His tone felt more flirtatious at this point, but Tyler's mind was foggy with sleep. "Good night, Aiden." He said as he started walking away.

Now, in the present, he could hear Aiden bragging about arachnid saving him. Talking about how he's such a gentleman. Others asked questions. Tyler never really interacted with anyone as arachnid, in fear of giving away his Identity, but he was too tired last night.

He felt someone slammed something against his table and looked up to find Aiden. Both of his hands were firm on the table as he smiled down. "Hey ty! Why so tired?" He asked. "Stayed up late doing homework." He answered, not making eye contact with the blonde boy. "Aw man that sucks!"

RING

Home time.

Once Tyler got home, he collapsed onto his bed. He was exhausted. His game went alright. They won, but Tyler felt like he was sloppy. His eyes just started to close when Taylor bursted in.

"TYLER!" She exclaimed "BEN WAS KIDNAPPED." Now this was a moment to save one of his friends. "By who? What information do you have!?" Tyler asked, sitting up now fully awake. She handed him her phone which had a missing poster.

Tyler immediately wrote down everything. His last where abouts, who he was last seen with, and to sell it he wrote the appearance. Even going as far to put a picture of Ben. Another picture showed two men dressed in all black, dragging him into a black van. The license plate covered.

Tyler freaked out. He quickly got into his suit. It was mainly black with white details. Based on the notorious spider man in New York. He had a matching jacket, completely black, white zipper. And a pair of black basketball shorts. It made him stand out more. He shoved his phone and the paper into his pocket. Before opening the window to his bed room and backing up.

"Good luck ty..." Taylor said.
Tyler sighed "thanks Tay...imma need it."

Tyler put his mask on and zipped the pockets to his jacket so nothing fell out. He waved bye to Taylor as he ran to the window. He jumped out of the window, and shot a web to catch himself. He stuck against the wall and scouted for a van that looked like the one in the picture. He took the paper out, and swung around town. Trying to find something. Anything.

Till he spotted it. A black van, just like the picture. A covered license plate. He followed the van, staying out of their sight. They reached a warehouse and dragged an unconscious Ben into the building. Tyler swung onto the roof. He opened a vent and used his spider grip to go down.

He landed quietly, watching through an air duck. He watched as they tied Ben to a chair. Ducked taped his mouth, so he couldn't scream for help. Tyler watched for a bit. Not alarmed. All he had to do was wait. He had to wait till the guys were gone, he would grab Ben, tie up the guys, and call the police. Easy.

However, things changed when the men grew tentacles from their backs. Shit. Well great. Perfect for Tyler Hernandez. He sighed as he noticed Ben stiring awake. Once he realized what was happening, he started squirming, trying to get free.

Tyler gulped when he noticed each tentacle was armed with a weapon. Weapons that were all pointed at Ben. Ben's eyes widened. Tyler could see the panic.

Tyler crawled out of the vent, now upside down. He crawled on the ceiling, finding the perfect spot. He shot a web, decently far, and swung down. He stretched his legs forward and kicked the armed man in the chest. The man flew back, hitting the wall. Arachnid trapped him within a web against the wall. He made sure every tentacle was stuck and unarmed before attending to the other man.

The man charged, now armed as well. Before Tyler noticed it, a blade ran across his cheek. His mask was now ripped, and blood started to trickle down. Tyler was caught off guard. He let out a Shaky breath and used his webs to get to the other side of the room.

He clinged to the wall. The room was quiet, so quiet you could hear the blood dripping to the floor.

Drip...
Drip...

Then a laugh. A cold, bitter, laugh.
One that made chills run down Tyler's spine.

"Arachnid. Your here. We've been waiting for you." The man said. His voice was low. Bitter. And worst of all. Familiar. The man's face was covered with a pair of glasses and a mask.

"You've been waiting...for me? Why?" Tyler said, climbing further up the wall. "You don't recognize my voice? What a shame." He said. He took his glasses and mask off to reveal...Mr.thomas? Tyler's history teacher?

"Mr.thomas-"

"It's Maverick." Mr.thomas- I mean Maverick said. His smile wide. Tyler held his breath as Maverick got closer. "Tyler. Come down here. We can work together." He held his hand out. Tyler felt his heart drop. "How do you-"

"How do I know your name? Don't worry about it. Tyler. Join me. I could use a guy like you." Tyler climbed the wall more, looking down at Maverick. "NO!" Tyler exclaimed "I'm not doing that!" Maverick smiled more "I knew you would say that." The tenticals started to charge for him. Tyler climbed up the wall and traversed along the ceiling. Dodging the tenticals. He crawled till he got to the other side of the room and swung into Maverick. Knocking him to the floor.

He attempted to use his tenticals to get up but Tyler slammed his foot against his chest and pinned every tentical with webs. Maverick continued to smile though. "You really thought you beat me?" He asked. Tyler took his mask off and looked down at Maverick. "No. I did beat you." He said. He kicked him in his face. Mavericks jaw hit the concrete hard, and he fell unconscious.

Tyler turned to the man he previously pinned to the wall, and shot webs at his face. Pulling his head forward then back, knocking him unconscious too. Then he slipped his mask back on. He walked over to Ben and untied him "I don't even know why they put this tape here when you already don't talk." Tyler wondered aloud, and Ben nodded. "Your not gonna tell our friends...right?" Tyler asked. Ben nodded again and signed 'your secret is safe with me'.

Tyler finished untying Ben and called the police. Within minutes, Taylor, Aiden, and the police showed up. Aiden ran to Ben, hugging him tight, while Taylor tried to keep quiet about why she was there. Taylor went to Aiden and Ben, and made sure they were ok. Before mouthing "good job ty" to Tyler. Tyler nodded in response. He shot his web onto a near by building, now that they were outside. He stopped by a gas station and then swung to a roof.

He sat on the roof of his apartment building, eating a bag of sour patch kids. He had his mask up a bit, just above his mouth. He heard the door to the roof open and scrambled to pull his mask down.

"It's just me, ty" Taylor's sweet voice seemed to echo in the silence. Tyler sighed and put his mask back the way it was, shoving another hand full in his mouth. At this point, the sun had set. Taylor sat next to him, and leaned over. Her head rested on his shoulder. "Was that guy...with the tenticals and broken jaw...was that our history teacher?" She asked.

Tyler nodded "I was surprised too...I was equally surprised when they weren't mad at me for killing him." Taylor sighed "yeah I asked the cops about that...they said that guy was wanted dead or alive...so you helped them..." Tyler nodded yet again. Taylor picked her head up and watched the floor, like it was going to open a giant hole and swallow them.

Tyler always enjoyed the silence. The only people he was fine with interrupting his thoughts was Taylor and-

"ARACHNID!" Someone called from below. Tyler, scared, fell backwards. He started falling from the roof, trying to find something to catch himself with. He was lucky when he shot a web at a light pole in perfect timing. He landed upside-down and found himself face to face with Aiden. Tyler, realizing his mask wasn't all the way on, panicked. However, Aiden didn't seem to care about knowing arachnid's identity.

"Sorry Arachnid! I didn't mean to scare you!" Aiden said, giggling. "I just wanted to thank you for saving my cousin." Tyler frowned "your welcome." He said, trying to go back to the roof. "Wait! I didn't get to thank you properly!" This caught Tyler's attention. He went back. "Properly?" Aiden nodded. Tyler looked him up and down. While he was looking at the floor, he saw Aiden get onto his tip toes. Before he could comprehend it, Aiden's soft lips were against his.

Tyler's eyes widened. It was bittersweet really. On one hand, this is the guy he likes more then anyone, expect his sister. On the other hand, Aiden is kissing Arachnid. It doesn't matter that it is really Tyler. Aiden doesn't know that. Aiden pulled away slightly, and whispered "thank you." Before pulling away and putting Tyler's mask on all the way. Tyler hung upside down, completely stunned as Aiden skipped away.

Once Aiden was out of sight, Tyler made his way back to the roof. Once he was sitting where he was prior he just stared into the distance. Taylor looked confused. "You alright, ty?" She asked, placing a hand on his shoulder. He took his mask off. The blood from the cut on his cheek now dry.

"Aiden..." Tyler began. "Aiden what?" Taylor questioned, more confused then before. "Aiden kisses me." Tyler stated, completely stunned and shocked still. Taylor also looked shocked.

That night, Tyler couldn't sleep. The thought of Aiden kept him up. Tyler Hernandez didn't get a single bit of sleep that night.

Now, a month later, Tyler finds himself saving Aiden almost everyday. Whether it's from a robber, or a wild dog, or he robbed a store. Somehow, everyday, Arachnid was saving Aiden's ass. Tyler has just gotten finished with getting Aiden out of a tree. "Why do you keep doing dumb stuff, Aiden? Your smarter then this!" Arachnid scolded Aiden as the walked to Aiden's house. "Sorry. Sorry. I'll do better." Aiden said in his practiced tone. "You say that and then you don't!" He explained. Aiden rolled his eyes yet his smile remained. "Sorry." Tyler sighed. "Aiden. If I didn't know any better I would say your doing this on purpose."

"What if I am?"
"If you are, what is your reason!"

They now walked down an empty alleyway. Since when was this the way to Aiden's house?

"Maybe to see you!" Aiden shot back, his smiled fading. Tyler stopped walking "what?" "Arachnid. I've been hitting on you since you helped me. I even kissed you when you saved my cousin! But then the next day happens and it's like you forget." Tyler stayed quiet. "And all I want is for you to notice me!, that's why I keep getting into trouble! I do it to see you!"

"I-"

"You don't acknowledge me in class! When we're not wit the group it's like I don't exist unless your saving me! Goddamit Tyler I jus want to be noticed!" Aiden blurted, then quickly covered his mouth. Tyler gulped "I'm sorry. I'm not Tyler." He lied. Aiden's guilt of saying Tyler's name went to anger. Especially when arachnid kept walking. "Cut the bullshit. I know it's you, Tyler!" Aiden exclaimed. Tyler has never seen him angry. It felt wrong.

"I'm not Tyler." Arachnid repeated.
"Prove it! Prove to me your not Tyler!" Aiden yelled.
"I can't-"
"Exactly!"

Tyler turned and saw Aiden with tears in his eyes. What was happening? "Aiden?" Tyler walked over to him. "I'm tired, Tyler...I just want you to notice me...to love me...but Everytime I try...it's like you don't notice or forget the next day."

Tyler sighed. He took his mask off and made eye contact with Aiden. "I do notice you..." He said softly. Wiping the tears from Aiden's eyes. "You do?" Aiden said, looking at Tyler with hopeful eyes. Tyler for sure thought Aiden would go 'HA GOTCHA!' but he didn't. Tyler nodded.

"Aiden Clark. You don't know how many nights of stayed up think about you. Thinking about how you kissed me, or all your little pick up lines." Tyler stated "it keeps me up at night because you make my heart skip several beats. I'm surprised I'm not in the hospital!" Aiden laughed a bit. Tyler's hand rested on Aiden's cheek, and Aiden supported his head with Tyler's hand.

"Now Aiden...I know this can't all be about me...what's up?" Tyler asked, pulling Aiden a bit closer to him. "My parents...they...kicked me out... I've been staying with Ashlyn but it's been so much...and right now... seeing you is one of the only things I look forward to..." He mumbled. Aiden made sure to look down, finding his shoes more interesting then what Tyler might say to his confession.

Tyler pulled him close, but has some questions. "If you were kicked out, why have I been walking you to your house every night?" Aiden smiled a bit "I tell you to go and then I walk to Ashlyn's house. I didn't wanna worry you." Tyler made intense yet playful eye contact with Aiden. "Aiden, I'm arachnid. It's my job to worry about you." Aiden laughed "I guess that true."

Tyler held onto Aiden tighter while smiling. "Hold on." Tyler instructed. "Wha-" "hold onto me moron." "Oh-" Aiden held onto Tyler equally tight. Tyler shot a web and swung high. Aiden's eyes widened. A normal person would be scared. But Aiden wasn't normal. He laughed the whole way to Tyler's apartment. He sure seemed to be enjoying himself. When they reached Tyler's window, Aiden crawled into the room first.

It was dark, with some posters of baseball players and some bands on one side of the walls. The other side has some musical posters. Wow I wonder whose side is who's. Tyler came in right after.

"You wanna sleep here tonight, Blondie?" Tyler asked, putting the mask to his suit away in its secret place. It was on the very top of the closet, since no one else in the apartment could reach. Aiden was already laying on Tyler's bed. "Yes please!"

After getting dressed into pajamas, they laid on the bed. Aiden had found a pair of hello kitty pajamas Taylor made Tyler get to match with her. Tyler wore a plain black T-shirt and shorts. Aiden laid his head on Tyler's chest and Tyler held him tight. "Hey Aiden?"
"Yeah Ty?"
",how did you know it was me?"

Aiden giggled "your voice." He stated with a smirk. He looked up at Tyler. Tyler frowned "my voice is that recognizable?" Aiden nodded, smirk still present on his lips. "Stop that."
"Stop what?"
"Smirking, moron."
"Make me, half-whit."

Tyler kissed him hard. Kisses him till that smirk was gone. Aiden went red and kisses back. The rest of that night the talked while cuddling, till they both fell asleep.

The end<3

"Now that's the story of Aiden and Tyler" I say with a bright smile, closing the book in front of me. "But Ms.herndaz! Tyler has the same last name as you! And you have the same name as his sister." A kid exclaimed. I giggled a bit "I told you that you can call me miss Taylor. And yes but remember just fictional."

"But I saw arachnid yesterday!" Another kid yelled. I put my finger to my lips "shush then you better not say who he is to people" I whispered.

"Everyone already knows his identity Taylor. Or else you wouldn't tell his story." Ashlyn said from beside me.."I guess you have a point. Anyway kids that's enough for story time! I hope you come visit the library again very soon!" I said, smiling. The kids filed out, saying their goodbyes and waving. Once the library was quiet again I hear the sound of crawling. I look up to see my brother.

"Tyler."
"Hi" he greeted, dropping down and hugging me. "Have you seen Aiden? He said he was helping here today." He asked. Ashlyn rolled her eyes "your boyfriend is in the comic section." She stated, pointing him into the direction.

I only know this story because Tyler made it a book for me. The children love it Everytime. But I know someone who loves it more then the kids. "I FOUND IT!" Aiden yelled from the comic section. "Shush!" The librarian looked at Aiden angerly. "Sorry" he whispered before coming to where me, Ashlyn, and Tyler stood. "I finally found the comic I made about you Ty!" He whispered shouted. Tyler smiled.

"Can't wait to read it, my love" he said, kissing Aiden forehead.
