Paedyn:
The endless love I have for Kai Azer is strong. He made a great king and an even better husband and dad. Gail washes the dishes, since she refused to let me help her and I smile as Kai enters his face full of exhaustion.
“Good day?” I ask as he wraps his arms around me burying his face into the crook in my neck kissing it softly.
“Mhm, could have been better, endless meetings, I missed my girls.” I laugh and he kisses my cheek. “Something smells delicious.”
“They made honey buns.” I say and he picks one up even after Gail swats his hand away and shoves it into his mouth.
“Mhm they’re amazing.” He licks his lips and brushes his hands on his trousers and smiles. “Oh no tornado incoming.” I frown but it gives way to understanding as the door crashes open Kitt running in squealing her head off. Adena close behind toddling along.
“Now, what have I told you about running around! You could get hurt baby.” I say as Kai throws Kitt into the air as she giggles and Adena whines at his feet lifting her arms.
“Oh come on Darling, they were just having fun weren’t you?” Kitt is quick to nod, always on daddy’s side, but Adena just cried and lifted her arms to be held. So he kneels down to use the other arm to hoist her up too. Her hair is brown, unlike Kitt’s and she has my eyes.
“Mummy can I go play outside in the fields! Plwaseee.” I sigh and kiss her head.
“No sweetheart it’s bed time. Come on we can play tomorrow.” I take Adena from Kai who flaps her legs and leans her head down yawning. I rub her back and rock her as Kai puts Kitt down and races her to her bedroom. I couldn’t have asked for a better dad to my two girls. He really is perfect.
So when I reach the nursery I sit on the chair and Adena fusses in my arms. “Oh I know, I’m getting it.” I reach over and grab her bottle and Kai comes in smiling.
“Out as soon as her head hit the pillow.” He kisses mine and blows raspberries on Adenas belly which makes her squeal and grab his hair yanking. I laugh and he rubs his head. “My two vicious little things.” He kisses me and I smile as he uses his Weilder power to heat the bottle gently shaking it and testing it on his palm, before handing it back to me.
I press the bottle to her lip and Adena as usual starts to drink as I rock her slowly, lulling her to sleep.
“I love this so much. Watching you look after them. My pretty Pae.” I kiss him and he smiles. “Hopefully neither of them will learn to press daggers to handsome strangers necks.” He jokes and I scoff in amusement.
“But then we wouldn’t be here would we?” He shakes his head and perks up as he smiles.
“Someone’s on her way,” he says as Kitt runs in and climbs on Kai’s lap.
“Daddy read my a story.” She whispers standing and he smiles.
“Okay baby, once upon a time, I met this beautiful dangerous, ordinary girl.”
My love for Kai Azer is infinite, some would say our love story was insane, but we would say it was just us. Endless love, endless time together, endless happiness.
Sometimes the beast does get the beauty after all.
