Chapter Text
The monitor clicks on and Ellis Shales face fulls the screen, the sound of reporters and their cameras filling the silent room. "Mr Shale! What do you have to say about the current situation? As a myoral candidate what will you do to stop Jeremiah Valeska? How do you plan to help the families of Gotham after the attack?"
Microphones and cameras are pushed towards Ellis, two big security gards usher them back as Ellis awkwardly tries to get a bit of personal space. "What has happend today will not be the end of our great city. I will do everything in my power to get support from the mainland, and I will have a dedicated team, the best of the best on a 24hour manhunt for Jeremiah Valeska. He will not get away with this, we will not give in to chaos. That phycopath will not walk free for a very long time."
He speaks clearly, almost rehearsed, but the crowd is hooked, cheers erupt from the mob collected outside of the GCPD. "Captain. James Gordon will lead this team," he gestures to Jim who'd just made his way beside him. "I will leave you in his hands while I make contact with the mainland. Jim." He makes his way our of the croud with the help of his security as Jim gets surrounded by the press.
The monitor clicks off and Jeremiah leans back in his chair checking a box off a list on the table next to him, a smug smile on his face. He gets up and puts himself a glass of whisky, taking a sip before leaning against his desk and checking his watch. A few minuets later he hears the notification for the main door being opened. He stands up and picks up a bottle of red wine and pours it into a glass. Picking it up he turns just as the door to his office opens, suddenly being face to face with Ellis.
He smiles and hands him the glass. "I saw you on the news. You did a wonderful job." Ellis takes the glass, and smiles sarcastically at Jeremiah.
"That's just you complimenting your own scripting, I know you." He takes a sip of his drink, Jeremiah smiles a big shit eating grin. "Don't act so smug, all you did was sit around in here all day. I've been out there working my ass off to make them like me."
"It's not that hard to like you, Ellis. Besides, I did kill your competition, and made it much easier for you to win the, hearts of the people," he says the last part sarcastically with a dramatic wasve of his hand. "Really i did all the work for you." He pouts a little, taking a sip of his drink before placing it on his desk.
"Oh thank you so much, I could never have done it without you, however can I thank you for such a generous sacrifice." He rolls his eyes and drinks some of his wine, he looks Jeremiah up and down, putting his glass on the side. Suddenly Jeremiah is pushed against his office wall, Ellis' hands grabbing at his shirt. Their lips pressed together forcefully. Once the shock warws off Jeremiah kisses him back, a hand grabbing Ellis' hair the other holding his arm.
