The corner of his mouth lifted into a lopsided grin. “You would know.”
Heat rose, coloring her cheeks a pale pink. “Flattery will get you places, but I can’t guarantee they’ll be good.”
“That’s all right. I like a little danger.”
Setting aside her coffee, she beckoned him closer. He came easily. She gripped his shirt in her tiny fist and tilted her head back to look up at him. “You’re like me, aren’t you?”
His dark green eyes said yes.
