emu ran and ran. down many streets, flights of stairs. she was running very late, thanks to her having a mock tea party with her plushies (and her unfortunately waking up very very late)!
well whatever, that was way out of her mind now, as she continues to run and run through many theatres and bakeries, she tries not to look disheveled as she tries to make it there.
she finally makes it to the massive gates of the kusanagi house. it seems nothing had started yet, and nene wasn't in sight. she spots a guard and runs up to him, slowing down as to not startle him.
'hello, i'm here to see lady kusanagi, i'm here to partake in a meeting?' she asked, hiding her panting.
'meeting? right this way, my lady.' he bows, and lets opens the grand doors, letting her through through.
through the rose gardens is a small building with a tea room. there was many flowers, swaying softly in the wind, and a familiar lady with a green parasol in the distance, matching hair swaying with the soft wind.
emu almost makes the silly mistake of calling out her first name out loud but she just...can't. not only because of their relationship being completely secret, but the slim chances of that ever going out could ruin both families and preventing them from ever meeting again...
was too much of a risk to bear. luckily, they had thought of protective measures, such as using their lady statuses, and using 'meetings' to hide their dates.
'lady kusanagi!' emu walks up to her slowly. nene closes her umbrella softly, then turns around to her pink girlfriend.
'ah, hello, lady ootori. let's go inside, shall we?' she takes her hand and they walk inside, to a prepared table with teacakes, biscuits and hot tea that nene had prepared.
'i had to sneak all of this stuff out of the kitchen today, since our tea party was really sudden..' nene mentioned.
'ooh, did you act like a suuuper sneaky thief where you had to do down a dusty dusty chimney and use magical powers against the evil kitchen staff?' emu responded quickly, looking like she had made up that story.
nene laughed rather 'impolitely' at that, then shakes her head. 'i just used an invisible spell and just picked them up.' she places her hat down on the table.
'ah, that's more simple.' emu giggles after saying that. 'so, shall we begin our 'meeting' then?'
'yes my lady...' nene responds. 'we shall.'
they begin to drink their tea and enjoy each other's company. 'nene-chan, did you make these cookies yourself?' emu asked, covering her mouth as she ate.
'yes, i did! i thought about you while making this, so i got up early to get all of this for you.'
emu suddenly gets up from her seat, and she picks nene up into a bone crushing hug. 'nene-chan...thank you!'
outside, a lone guard was doing his hourly walks around the garden when he spots the two seemingly brawling.
a billion thoughts race through his mind. was there now a conflict between the ootoris and the kusanagis that was unknown? was the two having a worse conversation?
whatever it is, it was required to save lady kusanagi! so the guard runs into the house, knocking down the door to find..both women calmly having a conversation, now both shocked as they look at the broken door.
the guard, spear in hand looks down at the two, nene covering emu, parasol turned wand in hand.
'lady kusanagi, is everything okay?' the guard said, rather firm and strong.
'everything is fine. what is going on?!' nene said, irritated and panicked. 'lady ootori and i are completely fine, so there's no danger here!
'my lady.. why are you protecting her?' the guard shouted in surprise.
'i very much value our guests safety as much as the topics we discuss. you know, this can be detrimental to our family relations. so i request that you leave now.' nene said, sternly and angrily.
'but my lady, she can be dangerous, we just want to keep you safe from people like her.' the guard stammered out.
'and i don't need help from people like YOU!' nene angrily shouts, and with one slash of her umbrella, she unleashes a spell, catching the guard off guard, sending him out of the room and putting him to sleep.
nene then takes a deep breath, dispelling her extreme anger. she then looks back at emu, giving her a remorseful look, and rearranging her hat. 'sorry you had to see me like that emu.'
emu dusts herself off, and looks up in awe. 'nene-chan, that was amazing!'
'was it?' nene asked, feeling pity for the poor guard that she'd basically sent off to who knows where.
'yeah, that was so cool! like you went all grrr! then all bang bang! and swish!!' emu begins to mimic her movements with her arms, making nene laugh.
'yeah, that's probably how it feels too.'
emu kisses her cheek. 'thank you for protecting me, nene-chan.
nene freezes up. 'its nothing, now..time to clean up.'
the room suddenly is surrounded by magic as nene carefully moves her umbrella around as she casts her spell. soon, the entire room is reverted back to normal.
'all done. emu, do you want to go on a walk around the park?' nene asked.
'sure! lets use that fancy umbrella of yours to fly up!' emu excitedly suggested.
nene swings her umbrella up and opens it, unleashing a small amount of magic and expanding so she could fly. once it's done, she turns back around to emu with a smile, and holds out her hand.
'are you ready, emu?'
'yes yes!' emu enthusiastically responds, and grabs onto her hand. nene holds her with one arm and the umbrella with the other. 'hold on tight!'
they both then soar into the air, flying though the evening sky towards the park, carefully holding onto each other, emu's eyes gleaming as they flew over the now minuscule city, through the clouds.
