1.

Let’s face it. The heat is only good when you are at a beach and nowhere else.

Kori honestly liked hot weather better than cold (funny enough, as she was from Boston of all places), but the heat was something insufferable.

Lydia had asked to go to the beach once, and what your wife asks your wife shall receive.

They were sunbathing and it meant she had the best view in the best seat. Lydia had a black bikini on, laying on her tummy and her top was undone as she was chill on the towell she got.

It was beautiful, really. Her girl is beautiful.

Kori on her part was admiring as she had the amazing idea of making a sand castle, she was good when she did them with her family when she was younger, it had to be the same as an adult. And, honestly it looks damn good.

It was a good day, too good.

Well, Kori had a problem though, and it was that they weren’t alone on this damn beach.

People had eyes, and she didn’t really mind when they looked at her, but when they glanced towards Lydia. It was a hard no for Kori.

Oh girl, that was a no no.

The gaze of this girl was giving her an ugly feeling inside of her. She felt like a straight man watching football when their team was losing.

Instead of going to that girl and confronting like her gut was telling her to do, she decided to go and show a little dominance. Showing off was better than attacking, right?

Kori got a little bit of the bronzer oil and spread it on her hands.

“Want a little more oil, my love?” she asked, almost as she put her hand on her girl.

Lydia laughed it off as she said “thought you would never ask.”

With her hands on her girl and getting her close was probably the best outcome. Lydia was laughing softly. “Baby, why are you touching like you wanna fuck me right now?”

“What if I do?”

“I didn't peg you to be an exhibitionist”

“Maybe I am, maybe I’m not. I’m a mystery box.”

2.

Never in her life Kori would have seen it coming to be gathered watching a Japanese series with her girl and around 7 other people.

Suzie mentioned some days beforehand that this Alice in Wonderland series was probably one of the best series she had ever seen and somehow convinced half a classroom of girls to binge-watch it, but they were half through the first season.

Kori hated to admit when Suzie was right but this show was sickening. Too good.

Lydia cuddled against her as there was a scene of another deadly game had started. "That one is not going to survive with that fucked up leg," she stated.

"Have faith in this man, I believe in this bestie!" Jewels added.

"Girl, save it!" Lana gave her opinion as if this was factual. "We just met this man, he gives such filler character vibes, he will die."

"Maybe he will become someone from the main cast or appear on the second season!" Jewels defended herself. "for all we know this man can be someone important-" she gasped as she rambled.

"What if this man is the game master who entered just to distract people," Kori chimed in only for the support to Jewels.

She got in response the groans of disbelief from Lana, Arrietty and Lydia, while Jewels winked at her for having her back, Suzie laughed it off and Crystal was way too busy focusing on the actual series to even discuss it.

"Kori, you got that out of your ass," Arrietty said.

Laughing and giggles filled out the room, it felt nice.

Until it didn't.

"Lydia, look at that girl, she is kinda your type," Lana commented the moment this tall character appeared on the screen. Kori, who was just about to take a sip of her drink, froze as if on command.

It sounds stupid to be a little annoyed at the mention that a simple character was her girl's type. But Kori has to be honest, it made her a little mad.

"Since when Lydia has a type?" Suzie asked, clearly confused.

"Girl, she has always had a type!" Lana continued, "Lydia is so damn weak for tall, strong, feminine girls, I know like two of her exes and they fit the mold."

"Don't say it like that, I am just someone who knows what they like" Lydia defended.

"And follows a pattern as she does," Jewels teased.

"But when I met her she was seeing this masculine girl who played volleyball." Suzie added. Kori hates the reminder that Lydia has been interested in other people. She understands when people look at her girl but the idea of Lydia being with someone else made her blood boil.

"It was a minute in my life only," Lydia said.

"Can we continue to watch the series?" Kori asked, trying to change the route of the conversation. "This bitch with he white hair seems sus as fuck."

"Kori," Crystal spoke, for what seemed like the very first time the whole night. "Did you get jealous?" Fuck her life.

The girls were not letting go of it, making jokes to annoy her and a quiet Lydia who just got closer to her as if she was a cat, and Kori was sure she was five minutes away to purring if that was possible.

"I choose you any day, over anything, you know?" Lydia whispered when all the girls were focused on yet another chapter of the series. "I knew it was you as soon as you said your drink was too good."

"I wasn't jealous," Kori replied.

"You weren't then." Lydia just smiled and accepted it, even if they both knew it wasn't true.

"NO, I LIKED HER!" Jewels screamed when a girl died on the series.

3.

Usually, when going out Kori likes to drink anything that has alcohol but doesn't taste like it does.

They were out, just Lydia and Kori at this club because it was a themed night, and decided to go alone.

It was, The Grinch night, they had to go!

They went all dressed up for the occasion too. A cute Cindy Lou look and a Grinch make-it-chic look. It wasn't even Christmas, just a random ass night they wanted to have at this club.

The show started and some guys started dancing on the stage, making sexy moves to slutty Christmas music. But, it just became like a background for their moment.

"Mama, do you know how sickening you are?" Lydia, happy, put her hand on her girlfriend, caressing her hair.

"So you've said baby and I told you, you are in safe hands."

They kept dancing and flirting with each other, lots of shots and sweet alcoholic mixes with funny names were coming and going, all on Kori's credit card as her lady is not allowed to spend a dime on her presence.

Well it was like that until...

"Ma'am," the bartender called Lydia, giving her a big blue drink, not what she usually asks for.

A confused look plastered her face. Kori befuddled in confusion as well, as she looked back at the man and her girl.

"I did not ask for this," Lydia said, giving this man a slight smile, trying her hardest to not look uncomfortable.

"The gentleman over there asked for it," the guy pointed at a random dude who looked way too cocky, and incredibly damn blind to not realize the girl was a lesbian, and more over to not see that Lydia was obviously taken.

Kori acted before her brain could, and got that said drink, chugged it. Lydia was shocked to say the least, as Kori left the empty glass to the bartender who had no reaction at all, probably used to people doing the same beforehand.

"Tell him, her lesbian girlfriend liked it very much," Kori almost groaned, after making a funny face.

"I'll give them your regards," the bartender replied.

The music sounded louder than before, as her girl did not say a thing. The moment felt like an ice cube to Kori for her amazing night. She, of course, felt mad at this rando who tried to silently hit on her girl.

Lydia's hands were now around her neck, making Kori look at her.

"Miss King?" she asked for her attention.

"Yes, Miss belongs to King?"

"Maybe," she started. "Just maybe, you should just get me all over you, so they know who do I belong to."

She smirked. Maybe, the night wasn't ruined in the end. As if they were perfect puzzle pieces their lips connected, with lots of hunger and little to no space in between each other.

Is it toxic of Kori to hope that man was looking? To make them know Lydia was, in fact, off the market. And, if he ever tried to get closer, she would make soup with his guts.

4.

Sam had her days counted and a death wish.

Last time they had spoken with this diva she asked them with a serious face to have a threesome with them.

And, not only it was a hard no as she was not sexually attracted to Sam in the slightest but she despised the idea of sharing Lydia.

They were about to have a homemade fotoshoot, and Sam kindly asked to do the makeup and help with the lighting of the pictures. Everyone in the room was kinda busy doing the general prep for getting the best pics.

So, as everyone had their mind in other places, it was a surprise for Kori the fact that it was brought up, once again, by the blondie when they entered the room. “Have you thought of my proposition?”

“Girl, save it” Lydia replied, as if it was nothing.

Kori had a little good feeling that her girl's reflex had been denying it, not that she thought she would take the offer but it being quick made her have a little fuzzy proud feeling.

“No, but really, I think it would be a great idea and we would make a good bag with it.” Sam insisted.

“Diva, I really don’t wanna kick your ass,” Kori said in a low voice.

Sam seemed speechless as she was opening her purse, she had the makeup laid out. It was good that the rest of the girls were not involved in the conversation. “Damn, chill.”

Lana, always so good, got in between the couple and Sam, changing the topic, as she demanded attention from Sam, asking her to do her makeup the most colorful and well done she could.

Lydia just glanced at Kori, and smiled, slowly getting closer to whisper on her girlfriends ears “the only one allowed to even go near me is you.”

Reassurance felt good.

“I love you,” she said absentmindedly.

Lydia’s smile already on her face was now bigger and her cheeks now a little flushed. Kori had it easy, all the times she has said the big three words came easy for her, she felt a lot and the easiest way to make her girlfriend know was saying it out loud.

“I love you too.”

It was a perfect moment for the couple looking at each other like they personally went to hang stars for each other.

“Could you two focus on the shoot?” Suzie begged, even if she was the professional third wheel, she always had a thing to say.

“Yeah, if y’all not letting me join, I don't wanna see it!” Sam added.

And, Kori was sure she would mess up with Sam’s pictures in one way or another as payback.

5.

Kori now understands. She gets it now. She was a possessive girl.

Hates the idea she wasn’t Lydia’s first anything, hated the idea people took what rightfully belonged to her, even if it was before even meeting Lydia.

The huge reminder that Lydia had a girlfriend before kicked when that girl came to say hi, when they went to Dunkin for their second drink of the day.

“Lydia, it is so nice to see you!” The girl dared to hug her tightly for what it felt like way too much.

She might have checked if she still used the same shampoo for the way she smiled and seemed as if she was fucking sniffing on her girl. Kori was ready to throw hands.

Lydia glanced at Kori, uncomfortably looking at her ex and then at her to awkwardly introducing them both. “This is my girlfriend, Kori”

The other girl's introduction came to deaf ears, Kori didn’t care who she was, nor her name, she just wanted her to look anywhere else, the floor, the ceiling, or even better, the door so she could leave her precious safe place, Dunkin.

“How is your sister doing Lyds?”

Lyds.

Kori grabbed Lydia’s waist, as if she was about to be taken away. “She is just going by, nothing much to say.”

Lydia tried her best to silently tell this girl to leave, as maybe she was blind to see that nobody wanted to chit chat.

“Maybe we could do this on purpose some time?” The annoying ex asked.

“No.”

Kori had to respond, she was done. Lydia looked like she was about to mediate to not make Kori look mean, but maybe she wanted to be mean.

“Nobody wants to talk right now, you better leave before I make you leave.”

The ex, looked surprised as her insanely annoying voice  “Oh wow, Lydia I didn’t think your boo was that mean, you used to have better taste”

“And yet, she is with me and you are the one who still refuses to stay where is not wanted.”

As that girl left, it felt like breathing, Kori took another sip of her drink. It tasted like ash only for how mad she was at the moment.

“Hey,” Lydia called.

“Hey diva,” Kori responded, her girlfriends gaze on her somehow made her feel a little better.

Damn, Kori was so weak for those blue eyes. One look and she would fold.

“I love you,” Lydia said first. “Only you, and I am only yours.”

The embrace she received felt like a bear hug, so damn fluffy and good for her.

Yes, Lydia was Kori’s weakness.

+1.

Let’s be fair. Lydia was the most jealous of the two. She was just the best one at hiding.

Lydia was not really proud at the fact that her blood boiled so damn constantly at the jokes her friends brushed off as silly, how bubbly Kori was and how eye-catching she was. Kori was almost magical, totally against everything Lydia herself was yet Kori complimented her so well.

It was scary how down-bad Lydia was for Kori. She was just more quiet about it.

“Are you mad, wifey?” Kori asked out of the blue.

“No,” Lydia lied.

She was, in fact, a little jealous. The group was messing with the fact that it was a joke that Suzie was Kori’s type too and if Lydia hadn’t showed up they would have been dating at that very moment.

Kori glanced at Lydia, she knew. Kori seems to be able to read her mind in moments like this.

Also, her way to show jealousy wasn’t fighting. It was curling up in bed thinking what she can do to be better. A little toxic but true.

Lydia’s attitude towards Suzie that day wasn’t the best to say the least. She either ignored her or replied with “yes,” “no,” and “dunno” to anything the red haired asked.

It was ridiculous because it wasn’t her fault either, but she couldn’t help it.

Suddenly, all that her friend did next to Kori felt like a personal attack. Even if it was something little like leaning over to see a random Tiktok they were watching. It was platonic, she knows. Neither Suzie nor Kori were interested in each other that way but Lydia just didn’t like it.

Most of the girls didn’t really seem to realize how bad she was feeling. But Kori did.

In the best puppy-like way, that was so damn Kori, she hovered around Lydia. She was about to be showered with affection no matter if they had company. Kori hugged her from the back and leaned her chin on Lydia’s neck, making her do this grin when you wanna smile but you still want to look a little upset.

She honestly valued that Kori understood how she felt in moments like this. Lydia showed her love like a cat, silently. She got mad, she bit, she slept and just wanted to be close to Kori.In true cat and dog like relationship.

“My girl got mad at me,” Kori started. “I wanna die.”

Lydia huffed. It was endearing. “I am not mad,” she defended herself. “Maybe a little annoyed but I am not mad!”

“My jealous kitten,” Kori cooed. “Who is, by the way, the only one for me and who I love very dearly.”

A soft giggle came out of Lydia. “Good. Jealous kitten wants you to be only hers, Possessive puppy.”

“Possessive puppy would even put on a collar that said Lydia’s property!”

Now they had to laugh together.

“Can you two keep your kinks behind doors?” Jewels groaned, reminding the couple they were, in fact, not alone.

Lydia was happy, she had amazing friends and a sickening girlfriend. It was good.
