Summary:

"If you need a hug just tell me."

Me projecting on Dazai with a story that happened to me for reslsies
So it's very out of character, I'm so sorry, please don't cut off my legs

And the Vomiting in the tags isn't really a thing it's just mentioned once that Chuuya was nauseous but it's nothing really.

Notes:

English is not my first language.
And this is my first fic ever.
I changed the names of the people but I couldn't use any BSD characters because it wouldn't fit.

And if you're reading this and think it could be about you, it probably is. Hi guys, I don't miss you at all :)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Dazai's and Chuuya's classes were on a school trip together. They were in the bus for 14 hours and once they arrived at the hotel they were exhausted. Their teachers told them that they could do what they wanted, so Chuuya and Dazai decided to first check out the rooms and after that the rest of the hotel.

After they were done with their room they found the outside area. There was a swimming pool with one slide on one side, on the other side was a bar and a path down to the sea. They found a place to put their stuff at and Chuuya went to take a nap in the sun. Dazai looked around some more and discovered a beach volleyball field and a basketball court.

And who was there on their way to the volleyball field? Of course, his ex. Her name was Laura, she had tanned skin, a pretty physique and was over all a relatively beautiful girl.

Their relationship ended due to him being to clingy and her breaking up because of it. He still wanted to be friends with her because she was fun to be around but apparently he did something to piss her off and now she hated him, causing him to hate himself even more than before. He also was a little scared to be honest because he vented to her a lot and everything, she had a lot against him in her hand.

And not to speak of this terrible friend group that formed in the last year. He had some friends, Laura but also Vivian, Mary and Joanne but suddenly they started acting weird. Since Christmas they started ignoring him which surprised him because they were good friends after all, or so he thought.

The boys weren't any different. Florian, the one he almost thought of as an older brother, started to regularly tell him to "fuck off" or "shut up" whenever he wanted to talk to him. Eric didn't really do anything, he wasn't talking much before and still didn't. John was the only one who was pretty normal.

One evening the students weren't allowed to go to their rooms and had to do something outside. Chuuya was somewhere with some friends and Dazai was watching the friend group play volleyball.

Should I just talk to her? Maybe I can apologise for whatever I did wrong... Just so there's no fight between us anymore.

After they were done with volleyball Dazai finally had enough courage to talk to her.
"Laura? Can we talk?"
"Ugh... What do you want?"
"Can we go somewhere else? I just wanted to apologise for whatever I did wrong."
"Okay fine."
Then they went behind the basketball court.
"So, Dazai, you want to apologise?"
"Yes, I wanted to apologise for whatever I said that upset you so, I didn't know you were feeling this way."
"So you don't remember what you said or what? Did you think Mary and Joanne wouldn't tell me when you talk shit about me?"
"What? What did they tell you?"
"They told me that you said that I had 10 kilos of makeup in my face and that I was anorexic."

No... They got it all wrong. Dazai didn't say that. He thought he could trust Mary and Joanne. Hell- he even said that they should just tell them if they ever had a problem with him, if he did anything wrong.

"I didn't say that. Yes, I talked to them about you. But I only said that your behaviour pisses me off. Because you suddenly started ignoring me! And in that class we have together you literally said that you 'only talk to me because you don't have anyone else'! That's not fair, don't you think?"
"I just ignored you so I wouldn't hurt your feelings but we all hate you! You are loud and an attention seeker. We can't stand people like you. And in our friend group it's so that if one person doesn't like someone, then no one likes that person."

At this point Dazai was so pissed off, sad, disappointed and angry that he started to cry.

This whole scenario went on for almost an hour until the teachers told everyone to go inside and get ready for bed. Fortunately for Dazai John lend him his cap so he could hide his teary face.

After Dazai gave John his cap back and thanked him, he went into his room. He kinda wished John would've asked him how he was feeling but he didn't and that was fine. It's not like he deserved it anyways.

Dazai was completely destroyed so he decided to brush his teeth and go to bed. As he looked at himself in the mirror he saw the eye bags he had from crying so much. He looked awful. He felt awful. Laura had crushed him with accusations and stupid Dazai couldn't even fight back with how emotional he was.

Suddenly Chuuya entered. Fuck- He couldn't let his crush see him like this but it was too late. His best friend was standing in the doorway staring at his tear swollen face.
"I guess the talk didn't go so well, huh?"
That was all Chuuya said before going to get his stuff, waiting for Dazai to finish.

After that they lay in bed. Dazai's thoughts were rushing. They were so loud. So many. He started crying again. Chuuya was beside him, trying to sleep. He must be pissing the poor ginger off with the noises he made.
"Dazai, if you need a hug just tell me."
"No, I'm fine, Chuuya. Don't worry."

He was not fine. There were so many thoughts. His brain couldn't handle. He was so defeated he couldn't even joke anymore. His mood was down the whole week before the trip, simply knowing that he wouldn't have privacy to cry.

In the middle of the night Chuuya woke up due to feeling nauseous. He got up and almost threw up. When he got back from the toilet, he noticed Dazai missing from the bed. God no. Should he tell a teacher? No. He couldn't waste time. With how shitty Dazai looked and probably felt, wasting time would've been dangerous.

The short ginger ran outside to the swimming pool. The lights were already out so he had to use his phone in order to see anything.

After looking for a while he found Dazai. The brunette was standing at the railings of the balcony-like part with view to the sea. He looked at Chuuya's worried expression and he felt guilty. Guilty for making him worry. Guilty for making him stay awake. He didn't know what to say. He had those thoughts in his head. But looking at Chuuya actually caring, they grew less appealing. Less like an option. If only he liked him back-
"You idiot! I was so worried! Don't do anything like this again! Not ever again! Never... Please Osamu."

Chuuya hugged him. The warmth something Dazai didn't know he needed. But he was freezing in the cool breeze.

He'd stay a little longer.

For Chuuya.

Just a little while.

Notes:

Until the part where Chuuya woke up in the night this happened to me just like this. I just had to add the little part for it to be a better story.
Kudos are greatly appreciated but this is just me venting :)
