Blade had just escorted Jing Yuan to the airport’s security gates.
As soon as he returns to his car, a notification pops up.
“You are now paired with Yinyue.”
Blade picks up his phone realizing this notification is from an app he has never seen. He touched the app to check and upon opening it, a selfie took up more than half the screen on the app’s interface.
The person in the picture revealed his chin, he was wearing a white and teal t-shirt outside a black turtleneck.
The turtleneck inside wasn’t too loose nor too tight, it was enough to reveal the outline of his elegant and thin collarbone, while the chest under is absolute flatness.
Looking at this selfie only is hard for one to determine whether this person is male or female.
Blade scrolls down, there is a picture that includes the person’s personal information.
His name is Yinyue, male, from Luofu, age 21.
Under that is an explanation on how to use the app: sliding to the right means accept, whereas sliding to the left means skip.
Blade already understood since then.
Jing Yuan installed a dating app for him

The letters flickering on the screen as if urging him to decide quickly.
Blade planned to slide to left, removing that person named Yinyue then delete the app for good.
However, after seeing half of the other’s picture he stopped midway, not sure what happened but he then slid to the right.
The app’s background color changed from cool to a warmer tone accompanied by sounds of heartbeats as announcing Blade and Yinyue had successfully been paired.
Yinyue on the other side as if was waiting for Blade to accept.
Just after receiving the announcement that Blade accepted and they were successfully connected, Yinyue immediately sent a voice message to him.
As Blade was about to touch the message Jing Yuan already called him.
“Have you seen my farewell gift, huh?” Jing Yuan asks enthusiastically.
“What the fuck did you do with my phone?” Blade grinds his teeth and asks grumpily.
“What? I already mentioned that app to you before, just yesterday and you already forgot???????”
If Blade were to rank his friends who are the most untrustworthy from the most to the least, Jing Yuan would be on the top of the list.
Blade tries to recall the stuff they talked about, they talked about lots of things yesterday.
Jing Yuan went to Penacony city yesterday, stayed at Blade’s house for a night, drank his wine, smoked his tobacco then talked in a way anyone would like to punch him in the face.
“Oi Ren, your mom was scared to asked you this so whenever we meet she always asks me, anyway lemme ask you something, are you fucking gay?”
Blade was turning on his laptop to check the lab’s record from the morning, hearing the word “gay” he immediately remembered in the lab, there was also someone covered in makeup.
He glared at Jing Yuan
“Are you looking forward to staying under the bridge tonight?”
“No, no” Jing Yuan panics as Blade turned off his laptop, stood up and approached him ready for a fight.
“Wait, I just wanna ask, your mom asked me to ask you this, why are you overreacting?”
“Gay or not, don’t you find that disgusting?” Blade asked indifferently.
Jing Yuan froze, then said slowly.
“I don’t think your point of view on this is right.”
Blade opened the fridge and poured himself a glass of wine, leaning on the wall and looked at Jing Yuan lying on the sofa.
“Oh” Blade answered.
“You don’t have the urge to vomit?” He added.
Jing Yuan looked at Blade pensively, then took a sip of wine.
“Hey, have you heard of ‘ internalized homophobia ’ ?”
Blade stayed silent, Jing Yuan pressed on.
“I think It’s right, what do you think?”
“Jing Yuan” Blade said coldly.
“I’ll answer your question a while ago, I’m not gay.”
The topic ended there, at least that is what Blade remembers until Jing Yuan said “We talked about it yesterday”, Blade has no idea where to get the information from.
“This app is great, trust me.” Jing Yuan says.
“I didn’t use your info to create so rest assure, just enjoy it, open your heart and follow your true gender~”
“I deleted it” Blade says.
“If you dare to touch my phone again, you’d be dead.”
Blade hangs up right away, and is about to delete the app when Yinyue sends another message.
Blade by reflex taps on the message, Yinyue’s sound echoes from the phone’s speaker.
“Hi, I’m Yinyue.”
“What?”
The other side’s voice is soft and gentle, but most importantly Blade recognizes this voice.
Without waiting for Blade to reply, Yinyue sends another message.
Yinyue: Why did you add me and not say anything, Yingxing?
That voice and the voice he hears everyday are the same, still that same cool voice but a little difference Blade has never witnessed.
Dan Heng…he also uses this app? How long has he been using this? How many people has he added?
Blade stares at the screen, as if possessed, his fingers move, answering the womanish guy he hates the most in the lab.
