"And then I said, next to my wife!" Odysseus said, laughing at his own joke.

Telemachus stared out at the window, picking at the food before him. How did he get here? Why did he ever think his father coming home would be beneficial to his sanity? Especially when his father didn't seem to have any of his own sanity left? He stared and stared, resisting the urge to flop onto the table and dig his hands into his hair.

His mother had said to be supportive. And he could never disobey his mother.

Penelope pat her husband on the head.

"Get it? I responded to a rhetorical question with a literal answer! Hahaha!"

For the first time in his life, Telemachus wished the suitors were here.
