Chapter Text
December, 28th 2016
Back when Isagi was still in his third year of middle school, his friends couldn’t stop talking about a certain rising star from the German club, Bastard Munchen.
They told him that the striker had just been called up to the U-18 German team. What really caught everyone’s attention, though, was his signature move: the fastest kick in history. At least, that’s what everyone was saying. His shot was almost mythical—like it could break the sound barrier.
It’s something called uhh.. something ‘impact’.
I dunno. Isagi grimaced.
At first Isagi doesn’t really seem to think much about it, after all- his only idol is Noel Noa after all! So why should he care?
“Yea! I heard that he is also from Bastard munchen” his friend exclaimed.
But as soon as he heard the name of the club, Isagi couldn’t just brush it off. ‘That lucky bastard— or whoever he is—is so damn lucky to be in the same club as Noel Noa!’ Isagi grimaced, his brows furrowing at the thought.
His friend, of course noticed Isagi’s grimace. “Hey Isagi, are you alright?”
‘I should do my research after school, and–’ His thoughts abruptly stopped when his friend nudged him. Great.
“hm? Yea I’m fine. I guess I’m just a bit curious about the player you’re talking about, haha..”
“Ohh– I mean, it's not surprising that you got curious! After all, Kaiser is in the same club as your idol, Noel noa. Right?”
‘Huh?’
“Kaiser?” Isagi tilted his head.
“Ah yes, his name is Michael Kaiser. I heard they already called him the German Prodigy!”
Isagi’s eyes widened a bit at that. ‘German prodigy? How fancy.. I'm definitely gonna do my research..- wait. a fucking german prodigy? At that age–’
“Wait. How old is he?” ‘He is on the U-18 team, right..?’
“Oh, Kaiser? He is 17 years old I think.”
‘HE’S ONLY 2 YEARS OLDER THAN ME??! And he’s already known as the german fucking prodigy?! Lucky-’ Isagi couldn’t deny the bits of jealousy, but he hadn’t seen Kaiser’s plays yet. So he shouldn’t be so quick to judge.
“Wait, what abou-” Just when Isagi was about to ask his question, the bell rang.
‘Wow. Perfect timing. Really.’ He thought sarcastically.

Isagi didn’t wait for his friends like he usually would, after the school bell rang he got up and quickly left the classroom in a hurry.
Huh? Odd.
His friends are definitely confused but just assumed that Isagi probably has a soccer practice today, after all Isagi is really passionate about soccer, he practically breathes soccer.
Except, Isagi’s soccer practice wasn’t until tomorrow.

“Welcome back, Yocchan!” His mom’s voice rang out from the kitchen, warm and inviting. The smell of pork cutlets can be smelled far from the door, or maybe it's just Isagi’s sharp sense.
Isagi greeted his mom warmly before quickly going upstairs to his bedroom.
The sound of a door closed.
Isagi dropped his backpack on the floor then went to sit at his table, slumping on his chair. Turning on his phone.
A few seconds passed before the screen lit up. Isagi quickly opened up the web search.

‘Oh! Kaiser actually has a twitter? Not really surprising I guess? From what I see, he is pretty famous after all.’ Isagi mused before clicking the link, leading him to a certain German striker’s twitter account.
Click. Eh?
Kaiser’s account was... underwhelming. There were no flashy posts or quotes—just one pic, which was when his team was celebrating a win against Dortmund. Isagi recognized it instantly—it was the same picture that had popped up in an article he’d skimmed through earlier for a bit, Just a bit though.
‘How mysterious’ again, Isagi mused.
‘I guess he’s the type who doesn’t use social media that often.. I can tell he put a lot of effort into his soccer- ekhem, football.’
Click.
Isagi clicked the follow button without any thoughts, I mean– Kaiser is still a part of Bastard Munchen right? Maybe Isagi was hoping to see Kaiser post something about Noel Noa, his Idol? Who knows.
Right after that, Isagi then proceeded to spend the next 4 hours watching Kaiser’s games. At first Isagi thought that Kaiser is just another ‘genius’ soccer player like the rest of others so called ‘rising stars’
And boy oh boy, Isagi had never been so wrong in his entire life.
Isagi is staring at his phone, rewinding the match over and over again, not being able to take his eyes off this so-called striker. Isagi apparently wants to know more about this apparently emperor’s playstyle, and oh.. that kick.. it was so fucking beautiful– and fast. Like a gunshot. Isagi wants to know- no. Isagi needs to know every bit of Kaiser's playstyle, footwork, visuals, and his positions.
Isagi can already feel his heart beating so fast, he would probably think he was having a heart attack. The warmth resting on his cheeks is inevitable ah- he is so red, though he only dismisses it, probably thinking it’s just the heat in his room. Fucking oblivious.
Huh? Heat?? It's literally in the middle of the night, no shit it’s freaking cold, you idiot.
"Yeah, yeah, I kno—wait... midnight??" Panic shot through him. "HOW MUCH TIME PASSED?! I HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW!!!" He'd spent who-knows-how-long just binge-watching matches—and not even Noel Noa's matches?! His idol?! Just as Isagi fumbled to finally about turn off his phone—
Ding!
A notification popped up in his screen. "Twitter? Huh... I don't even use that app much," he thought, brows furrowing. Shrugging it off, he wandered over to his bed and let himself collapse onto it, landing with a soft thud. His phone rested loosely in his hand as he stared up at the ceiling, the glowing screen waiting for his attention.
He just lay there unmoving, blankly staring at his phone,
‘Probably just some soccer match update or something… –’ He blinks lazily.
... ?
Huh? No way. He blinks again, rubbing his eye in the process.
