“I'm so sick of her, like what gives her the right to barge in here and demand that,” Daisy said exasperated as she again looked at the message Jenny had received earlier from Carla about selling the pub. She took another sip from her champagne flute.
“Well it is hers and we did take the money from her,” Jenny concluded and carefully pushed the glass away from Daisy. The younger woman had emptied almost the whole bottle already since Jenny had told her about said message. Daisy's head snapped up to the elderly blonde. She glared and if looks could kill Jenny's life might have ended that exact moment.
“I'm off duty so no killing each other please,” Kit commented from the bar as he sipped his pint.
“You're on her side too aren't you, with her dating your coworker. Just like Jenny is always on Carla's side,” Daisy sounded like a petulant child at that moment. She reached for the glass again and emptied it before refilling it again.
“I'm sure Carla and Lisa are just bonding over their shared trauma. I mean look at how much has happened to them in their short relationship. I bet once a fairly decent man comes around Carla will go for her next lay,” Daisy said to Kit at the bar.
“Oi Daisy, less gobbing,” Jenny yelled from behind the counter preparing 3 drinks almost at once since Daisy was of no use whatsoever.
“What, don't tell me y'all don't think the same,” Daisy asked Kit as she took another sip of her glass.
“Daisy I think it's best if you stop talking now,” Kit said calmly.
“Or maybe it's just because all men around here have been used up by her and that's why she went for the copper,” Daisy mused as she swirled the liquid in her glass.
“Okay, out from behind the bar. You were supposed to serve drinks, not drink ‘em yourself,” Jenny said as she ushered Daisy out from behind the counter and into a booth opposite it.
“Bloody hell,” the blonde muttered under her breath as Daisy emptied her glass again. She got up again and walked over to Kit leaning heavily on him this time.
“Come on, you can't believe that the number 1 man-eater in this area just randomly switches teams for DS Swain,” Daisy said mockingly.
“It's enough Daisy,” Kit stated.
“If you don't want to hear what a snuck up bitch your partner's dearest is, I'll find someone else,” Daisy slurred and turned around.
“How about you tell me?” Someone from the entrance of the Rovers remarked. Daisy turned around only to be met with Lisa herself.
The blonde was fuming but was able to keep her feelings to herself for now.
“Oh DS Swain, the Magician,” Daisy said and chuckled about her own joke.
Kit immediately got up as he saw Lisa standing at the entrance of the pub, unsure how much she had heard and how the scene would unfold.
“Come on Daisy, up you go,” Jenny rushed over to them too and tried to push Daisy out of the way again.
“No no, I'd like to hear what you have to say about my relationship and more importantly my girlfriend,” Lisa said with an edge in her voice. Daisy was oblivious to the tension radiating from the blonde and smirked.
“At least someone's listening, even if it's unexpected,” Daisy slurred and eyed Lisa suspiciously.
“You know she's just blabbing,” Jenny tried to intervene but Lisa did not budge. She stood firm, her eyes trained on Daisy the whole time.
“I'm aware of that. Thank you Jenny,” the sarcasm was very obvious in her voice.
Daisy smirked as she and Lisa sat down and started talking immediately. Jenny on the other hand made her way over to Kit and looked at him concerned.
“I fear that one of them will leave the pub handcuffed today,” she told him before she walked back behind the bar.
“I know what you mean and trust me it will be ugly,” he added.
Jenny took her phone out and called Carla, it went straight to voicemail so she tried again with the same result. She knew Carla was mad at her but in that moment she frankly didn't care. She tried and tried again.
At the tenth attempt Carla finally picked up.
“You're being especially daft today aren't you? When someone declines 9 times it usually means they, don't want to talk,” Carla barked at her.
“Carla, you have to come to the pub immediately.
Please,” Jenny knew she sounded pathetic but everything was better than the ticking nuclear bomb in the middle booth.
“Jenny, I'm really not in the mood for another get together today,” Carla huffed exasperated.
“Lisa is here, so is Daisy. She's currently telling Lisa how she's just another notch in your bedpost,” Jenny rushed out before Carla had a chance to hang up.
“I'm on my way,” was all Carla said before she hung up.
It wasn't even 10 minutes later when Carla rushed into the pub and was pointed to the booth by Kit and Jenny at the same time. She walked over and cleared her throat.
“Daisy,” she said sharply, clearly a threat.
“Nice of you to join us your Highness,” Daisy mocked.
“I think it's best if you do one,” Carla said. She had yet to look at Lisa. Carla wasn't sure what to expect when to look at her girlfriend and she definitely didn't want to give Daisy the satisfaction of seeing their reaction to one another.
“Oh why my dear Stepsister, just having a talk with your current dearest,” Daisy slurred. Carla stepped forward but was immediately held back by Lisa who now forced her to look at her.
Kit took that moment and all but dragged Daisy away.
“Look I don't know what she said but please don't believe one word of it,” Carla said quietly.
“Oh what should I not believe darling,” Lisa started and again Carla was not sure what to expect.
“You replacing me for the next man that walks through this door or me actually having magic fingers,” Lisa smirked and wiggled her eyebrows. Carla couldn't help but let out an breath she didn't even know she was holding.
“I'm not gonna lie, it hurt what she said, but I know she just wanted to smear your image. So come on, let's go home and let me show you some of the magic I have,” Lisa said and kissed Carla before she pulled her towards the exit.
All Carla could do before being dragged out was mouthing thank you at Jenny who in return gave her a soft smile.
They didn't even make it to their bedroom, just barely to their flat, before Lisa showed Carla the magic she had stored in her fingers and her tongue.
