Chapter Text
It was morning at the Pigs', and Peppa had just gotten out of bed. As per usual, she was the first awake that morning.
'Guess I'll make myself breakfast.' The girl thought to herself as she opened the cupboard, pulling out a bowl and spoon, before grabbing a box of cereal off the side of the counter and pouring herself breakfast.
As Peppa sat down to eat her cereal at the table, something caught her eye from outside her window.
A mover's van.
'So, we're getting new neighbours. Hm. Hope they have kids my age.' Peppa thought as she simply resumed eating breakfast, enjoying the quiet of the morning. However, the silence was soon broken by the sound of excited footsteps, as her bowl nearly shook off of the table.
"George!" Peppa shouted as her brother nearly knocked her breakfast off the table with his excited skipping. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!"
The 11-year-old simply chuckled in response, putting some toaster pastries in the toaster for his breakfast.
"Well, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed!" George quipped, "You're lucky you didn't fall off the side."
"If a bunk bed is so risky for me, why don't you just get your own room?" Peppa grumbled at her overly enthusiastic brother.
Suddenly, before Peppa could resume peacefully eating breakfast, George's attention shot towards the mover's van outside the window, with a family of dogs loading out their furniture from inside.
'...oh no.' Peppa thought. She knew her brother was exactly the type to get overly excited by something like this. And unsurprisingly...
"WE'RE GETTING NEW NEIGHBOURS!!!" George beamed, excitedly pointing towards the window as his small curly tail wagged behind him.
"Yeah, I know, very exciting." Peppa sarcastically added, rolling her eyes.
"I hope I don't turn into a joyless lump when I turn 13." George muttered under his breath, much to Peppa's annoyance.
"At least I don't have a dinosaur collection."
George's head snapped around just as he was about to turn and leave the room.
"Did you just insult my dinosaur collection?"
"Ugh, I'm sorry, I'm just in a bit of a bad mood today." Peppa sighed, stirring the cereal around in her bowl with the spoon.
George silently nodded in forgiveness, before his attention shifted back over towards the family outside.
"Say, I know what'll cheer you up! How about after breakfast, we go say hi to our new neighbours!" George beamed, excited to meet new people.
"Eh, sure." Peppa replied, appearing slightly less bitter now.
'What's the worst that could happen?'
