Summary
Rowen Lucy doesn't have much going on for him. A C-average, homeless student at a tiny school in Westport, Washington, all he has is Exy. Having been on his own since he was fourteen, it's all he has to lean back on. When his last season during his senior year of high school comes to an abrupt close, Rowen can't bring himself to let go of the one thing he's ever had for himself.
When he's signed to the Palmetto State Foxes after their previous striker sub attempted suicide, Rowen knew this was his chance to become something more than a failure. He lets the Foxes and Wymack take a broken, pathetic mess and shape him into something real. Somebody worth believing in, somebody worth standing beside. And Rowen finds himself pulled and hanging by Kevin Day's side a little bit more than the rest. That's his idol, after all. Somebody who faced hell and came out alive, came out shining and in blazing fury. And Rowen is completely content with letting himself get burned.
