'“I was referring to the view,” he says, gesturing out to the stunning vista before them.
“I know. So was I.”
He lets out a gentle snort of laughter and turns to fix her with a quirked eyebrow. “You're incorrigible.”
She takes a step closer to him, into his space, and his expression softens at her nearness. “I speak only the truth,” she says, reaching up to attempt to brush those errant strands of silver back from his forehead; they fall free again as soon as she pulls away.
She cradles his face, just for a moment, just long enough to stroke her thumb along the ridge of his cheekbone, and he turns his head to kiss her palm.
“Honestly,” she says as she retreats, “I'm surprised that beautiful nose of yours alone hasn't inspired volumes of passionately amorous poetry from the lovesick masses.”
Another snort of laughter, graceless and a little flustered; he absentmindedly lifts a hand to brush over the nose in question as it turns pink.'
