Alex goes quiet for a moment, gaze drifting up to Henry’s face—soft with sleep, mouth parted just enough to snore; his lashes flutter a little with every breath—he looks like peace made human.
“Your dad, by the way…” Alex murmurs, voice low and full as he lets his attention drift back down to his belly. “...is the most incredible person I’ve ever met. Ever. In the world. He’s gonna roll his eyes when I tell you that one day, but you should know it now."
