Summary
He opened the door with far more force than necessary, sending a new cascade of paint chips to the floor in the process. Naruto smiled a grin too wide for his face and Sasuke tried to be upset. “Thank you!” Naruto moved around him in the too-narrow hallway while Sasuke slowly made his way to the kitchen table walking as a man sent to the gallows. He rested his forearms against the cool linoleum table and tried to ignore how it wobbled slightly under any sense of pressure.
It wasn’t that big of a deal, Sasuke decided. Everyone wanted to not be alive sometimes when things got too hard, or complicated, or when Naruto had that sad, pinched look between his eyes or when Sasuke found that disappointed look in his sensei’s eyes directed at him. It was normal. A shinobi’s life was curated for sadness and turmoil and Sasuke was no exception. If anything, he was the blueprint.
The final installment of the series where in Sasuke is working on himself, Naruto breaks, and Sasuke cannot for the life of him figure out what Naruto is planning.
