A Lesson She’ll Remember

Notes:

I have no idea what I’m doing :)

Work Text:

Cream Puff Cookie was freaking out because she had no idea it was Latte Cookie’s birthday, only until Almond Cookie [half-reluctantly] came into Latte Cookie’s classroom to give her flowers. Cream Puff Cookie thought that it was a romantic gesture, until he wished her happy birthday, which then her thoughts began to race.

She had grabbed paper while Latte Cookie was distracted and tried her best to make her a birthday card, but nobody does too well when trying to rush. It was really messy, and Cream Puff Cookie thought it wasn’t worthy of being given to Latte Cookie, so she grabbed another paper and tried again, this time taking more time. It still looked a bit iffy, but at least it was of enough quality to be given as a gift. Yet, Cream Puff Cookie thought it was not good enough.

Just then, Latte Cookie approached her desk, seeing that she was distracted.

“Cream Puff Cookie?” Latte Cookie asked, “What are you doing? You should be paying attention.”

Cream Puff Cookie jumped in surprise, hiding the card, “A-AH! Mrs. L-Latte… what are you doing?”

“What’s that you’re hiding? May I see it?”

“Uhm, no, it’s not done…” Cream Puff Cookie said bashfully. But since she didn’t want to disappoint her favorite mentor, she handed the paper over.

Latte Cookie read over it and smiled, “This is great! Thank you.”

“But.. it’s not good,” Cream Puff Cookie said, looking nervous.

“Cream Puff Cookie,” Latte Cookie said in a lecturing yet soft tone, “It doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad, what matters is the intention.”

“So, you like it?” Cream Puff Cookie asked.

“I love it!”

“Happy Birthday, Mrs. Latte!”
