Summary
Annabeth was tense. She was standing in the crowded square, where demigods were gathering to watch the reaping for the 100th hunger games. Normally, there wouldn't be much of a reason to worry as demigods don't participate in the games, most won't even watch. The issue was, the routine she had been following for years had changed; cameras were set up around the square, there was a higher guard presence than usual and there was a capitol representative on the stage alongside Chiron. To top it all off, Mr D had given a speech at dinner the night before (which was unusual itself) and like all godly advice, it was incredibly vague warnings of something to come. The most direct hint was his choice to end with the capitols favourite phrase. May the odds be ever in your favour.
Now, Annabeth had a pretty strong theory, but she refused to think about it. After two wars, and too many losses, she would really appreciate a break, but that does not seem to be happening any time soon.
