Summary
Many times he had tried not to go back, telling himself that he had already satisfied all his sexual curiosities, that he did not depend on it. That he would not become a slave to it as once - he now realized - he had been a slave to the hunger. And 'staying' implied permanence. He had no intention of staying there, in the human world, with that person, or even alone. He also had not, before, possessed any intention of anything other than 'knowing what sex felt like', just once, just enough to try to understand types of emotions that he seemed incapable of, but that his brother possessed. Just enough to disturb a little of the spiritual peace of that man, who perhaps had failed to be a monk - or perhaps never had tried.
