Summary
After seven years away, Keefe returns to the Lost Cities, but things aren't as he remembers them to be. The Cities have been torn apart by the war against the Neverseen, and the people have suffered immeasurable losses. But Keefe only has one thing in mind: find Sophie and repair their relationship.
As he tries to navigate this new world, something brews. The Council is weakened, unrest fills the streets, and his old friend group is torn apart. More importantly, Sophie has changed. Hardened by the war and his betrayal, she is keen to avoid him. But Keefe won't be defeated so easily. He will fix things even if he has to unravel dangerous secrets in the process.
If you love kotlc and like me, perhaps grew up with the series but wished it got to tackle more mature themes, and went more in depth about the relationships between the characters, this is for you ;)
