    Summary

At a surreal and haunting prom soaked in red light and tension, Nikolai Gogol makes a dramatic entrance, drawn to the cold and enigmatic Fyodor Dostoyevsky seated like royalty above the crowd. With manic adoration and theatrical flair, Nikolai asks Fyodor to be his prom queen, only to be met with a chilling refusal: “I’d rather die.” As the music loops that phrase like a curse, the two engage in a dangerous, intimate confrontation—Nikolai obsessed, Fyodor cruelly distant. Beneath the performance lies something darker: a war between desire and control, obsession and detachment, madness and meaning. In the end, Fyodor walks away, leaving behind the crown and the madman who offered it.
