Lilac hummed to herself checking the code on her comm with a sense of self satisfaction she hadn't felt since the PvP matches last month. Learning to be an admin was mostly reading and studying, which was boring to say the least. She wanted exciting stuff like she heard about from Hermitcraft History. Most of the stuff she had learned was just reading, checking numbers and graphs, and how to interpret data in the code. Where were the life games? The moon crashing down? People turning into potatoes?
At least today was close to what she wanted. Joe and Cleo had returned from an off world trip and Xisuma had shown her a small thing he always did, quarantine. How to isolate code in case of viruses. They had practiced together and she checked again and everything seemed good. The virus scans would run over night then they could lift the partition in the morning. She didn't even know it was something the admins did every trip. It was fascinating how much the admins did that the normal players didn't know about.
Even that had its moments of tidium, though. The scan seemed to want to be babied at every turn. Xisuma had so much of the server locked down that the need to grant access at every step of the process was weighing on her. Surely she could come up with a script to accept the access requests.

“Yes….”
SCANNING
She toyed with the command lines on her comm as she brewed her tea. Mikki was probably waiting. ‘Maybe Xisuma won't mind if I practiced the partitions a little more.’
Just as she wondered who to work on, the comm beeped.

Lilac rolled her eyes. “Oh my gosh yes, continue. Stop asking stupid anti-virus. Just run the freakin’ scan.” She hit yes.
DOWNLOADING
Something in her heart seized. Xisuma was very clear, no downloads. He had to check every update, every line of code to ensure it was compatible. “Downloading? Downloading what? To where? Wait a minute!”
DOWNLOAD SUCCESSFUL
As soon as the success message flashed on her screen she felt something. Like glowing eyes on her. Watching. Waiting.

Lilac: Uncle Xisuma I think I messed up.
[Xisuma messaged you]
Xisuma: What is going on?
[Grian]: Did anyone else feel that?
[Etho]: Yeah. Are we doing updates?
[Mumbo]: Didn't feel like a normal update.
[ZombieCleo]: I didn't feel anything.
[Ren]: SDFASDTRE CXWFDSLM;;
[Cub]: Ren? You good?
[ImpulseSV]: Skizz and I are on our way over, we heard him yell.
