Damian hasn't come back yet.
Raven's trying really hard not to show how scared she is, but it's been four hours since Damian was supposed to meet them on Wayne Tower. It's been a hellish night, too many escapees, bombs scattered over the city, kidnappings and heists.
Gotham was ransacked and everyone was called in to help the Bats deal with it.
Damian had been with them at the tower when Red Hood had called to tell him they needed help, and then Dick called Starfire to pull the rest of the titans into the battle as well.
Damian promised her that he'd see her on the roof. He promised.
She's settled in the middle, biting at her nails as she waits, and trying to pretend that she's not freaking out.
Nobody knows yet, that she and Damian have been dating for seven months. They were planning to share it tonight during game night, but that obviously got disrupted.
Now, she's scared that they won't get to tell anyone because he's still not here yet and nobody knows a damn thing. Dick disappeared three hours ago when he arrived, counted who all had made it, and his face went stony before he took off without even looking at Starfire.
Starfire took off after him about an hour later after she got a call.
But there's been no word.
Some people have showed back up like Terra for Garfield and Maya for Torres.
Damian is still not here.
"Raven, why are you eating your nails like that?" asks Garfield as he walks over to him.
"I don't like being in the dark about everyone that was out there," mutters Raven as she forces her hands together, lacing her fingers as she tries very hard to get him to stop looking at her with that worry that's radiating off him in blue waves.
"Raven, you know that I at least know you better than that, right? Why are you trying to lie to me?" asks Garfield with an arched brow filled with curiosity.
"I'm not lying to you," replies Raven harshly as she glares at the dark haired man in annoyance. Being accused of lying when she's not is going to grate of her nerves harsher when she's already worried. "I don't like being in the dark about everyone that was out there. Starfire and Nightwing disappeared without a word, we haven't heard anything from Hood or Red, and Robin is still out there too."
"Rave—" Garfield leans back in surprise.
"Rae, are you okay?"
Raven jolts up immediately at the sound of his voice.
"Dames, I'm fine. Are you okay?" asks Raven as she looks around the roof, trying to gauge where he could be at. "I don't see you. Where are you at? Do you need back-up?"
"Incoming," replies Damian instead of answering anything else.
She turns at the latching sound of the grapple gun, and she sighs in pure relief seeing Damian land on the roof.
Raven doesn't even care that his mask is off, nor that his brothers and father have followed him on the roof. She doesn't even care about the blood she sees trailing down his cheek from a jagged cut through his brow.
Raven runs to him, wrapping her arms around his neck as he immediately wraps his arms around her waist with an oof.
"I'm so glad you're okay," breathes Raven as she buries her face in his neck, gratefulness and relief swirling through her dangerously. "You scared me, Damian."
"Sorry, someone decided it would be funny to leave me with eight ninjas and three gunmen," murmurs Damian as he holds her tight against him, spinning her lightly before settling her on her feet and just hugging her. "Didn't mean to scare you, Rae."
"I know, Dames, I know," says Raven as she pulls back to look at him, soft smile curving her lips before her eyes widen lightly. "They're all staring at us, aren't they?"
"Oh yeah, ever since you came running at me. Pretty sure Drake and Todd traded money with Grayson," replies Damian with an amused eye roll as he tilts his head to the side.
"Well, better get it over with then, huh? Which one of them left you on your own?" asks Raven as she arches a brow, amusement curving the corner of her lips at the smirk that curves Damian's lips.
"Todd," replies Damian as he lets his hands fall to her hips with a gentle squeeze before dropping to his sides.
"I'll be right back, Habibi," says Raven sweetly before brushing a gentle kiss to his cheek. Then she twirls and walks right up to Todd who is cursing at Dick, she holds out her hand and chokes him immediately, lifting him in the air as the others shout. "You almost got him killed, you bastard! Leaving him without back-up like that? When he's learned how to work with a team? You should've known better! Do something like that again, Todd, and I will decimate you."
She drops him and kneels down in front of him as he gasps for air.
"He wasn't actually alone! I was there, just dealing with the idiots on the roofs," huffs Jason as he tries to drag in enough air to speak properly while glaring up at her.
"He was alone long enough to get a scratch that he shouldn't have gotten. He was definitely alone long enough for him to not show up here as promised," snaps Raven as she glares down at the older man, anger coursing through her veins as she tilts her head, eyes burning. "You made him break a promise, Todd, and I don't take kindly to you screwing with his word. Next time, you call for back-up before you take off to deal with idiots on roofs. Or, better yet, you call the minute you realise that you two can't take them all on by yourselves!"
"Listen here," Jason starts to speak but then Damian says, "Todd, don't."
Things get quiet after that, but only long enough for Damian to walk over and hold out a hand to Raven, which she takes gratefully.
"So, you two finally got together huh?" asks Dick with a grin.
"How long do you think we've been together, Grayson?" asks Damian as Raven leans into him, arms wrapping around his waist.
"A few days? Definitely since Monday," replies Dick proudly.
Raven snorts as she hides her face in Damian's neck.
"Way off," says Damian proudly as he presses a kiss against her hair. "We've been together for almost eight months now, and tonight was supposed to be the night we announced everything at dinner. At least until things went completely sideways on us."
"Yeah, I was even going to bring brownies," adds Raven as she lifts her face to grin at them, smile dropping when her eyes meet Jason only to curve again as they land on Dick. "But now, I'll have to ask Alfred to schedule a new dinner night. No brownies for Todd when we do have dinner, but I'll make sure to bring the rest of you brownies tomorrow since they were baked today."
"Ooh, Raven's brownies are the best!" cheers Dick as he turns to high five Tim who's grinning wide.
"Wait a damn second! I didn't do anything to him aside from protect him! How come I gotta miss out on brownies?" asks Jason with annoyance as he glares at Raven.
Raven arches a brow as Damian says, "You left me alone and laughed on the comms, Todd. You know those conversations are recorded, should I ask Drake to pull it up for you? To help with your sudden memory problems?"
"You wouldn't—" Jason's brows furrow harshly, but not before Tim snorts.
"I got you demon brat," says Tim amusedly before a phone is tossed to Raven. "Just hit play."
Raven does, and she listens to it all. She even hears Damian cursing Todd out for making him break his promise and apologising to her for whatever state he finally reaches her in all while Todd cackles.
"That's— I'm fucked, aren't I?" asks Jason with a sigh as he drops onto his ass.
"Definitely," replies Dick with a chuckle.
"I'm still stuck on how I missed that my son has had a girlfriend for nearly eight months," Bruce's voice sends a shockwave through the entire roof, and suddenly a verbal explosion happens that has Raven tossing the phone to Tim and hiding her face in Damian's neck.
They knew this would happen, of course they did. And yet, Raven feels unprepared for the barrage of questions coming towards her and Damian about their relationship.
