Summary
Working in Arasaka counter-intel is an exhausting, deadly, thankless job. When your daily workload involves planting agents in secure Militech facilities, fighting off Biotechnica mercenaries, cracking into NetWatch servers, and keeping the behemoth that is Arasaka semi-functional, there's never any room for R&R. Vacations are almost unheard of, sick days are nonexistent, and you're just as likely to catch a bullet from an ambitious coworker as you are from another megacorp's agents.
Miss Kobayashi has certainly been feeling the strain over the past couple of months. While some of her coworkers, such as the enigmatic V, are nice enough to work with, there's still plenty of assholes, rivals, and uncaring bosses to keep track of. Even with the cognitive boosters and company-standard implants to keep her body functioning, she knows that it's only a matter of time before she slips up and does something that'll leave her freefalling off the corporate ladder. In a fit of despair, she ends up going on an extreme drinking binge on one of her rare free days, somehow managing to walk all the way out to the Badlands and back without getting killed by Scavs.
Little does she know how complicated her job is about to get.
