Summary
Lumine's eyes closed as she allowed her tense muscles to relax. For once, she was alone, content with solitude, after being surrounded by many others.
The water rippled outward from her, small waves lapping against the stone edges of the spring. She could almost forget the weight of her responsibilities, the burdens she carried. The gentle warmth of the waters could sweep away her worries, for a short time. All she had to do was take a deep breath and sink deeper into the spring.
Then she heard the telltale splash of someone else getting in.
“Caught you off guard now, didn’t I?”
