Being part owner of a baseball team, even a minor league AAA team, meant a lot more hands-on work than Stiles had expected. The majority owners were frank that they had put their time into running the franchise and trusted Stiles -- and Peter -- to do their best for the team.
It didn't take long for Stiles to realize how embedded in the community the team was. It inspired him to make a suggestion to Peter.
"We need to have someplace of our own to live," Stiles told Peter after a year of hotels, sublets, and staying with new friends. "It would be good for our image to have a permanent place to stay when we're here."
Peter gave a small grin. "You're worried about our image?" he teased.
Stiles laughed. "Well, someone has to!"
"What were you thinking?" Peter asked.
"Doesn't have to be fancy but I'm aware of the need for security," Stiles shrugged. "And we've skated around the Packs in the area. I know you've reached out and worked it out so we can come and go, but, well, it's just easier to have some place we can call our own."
Peter nodded. "I suspect you have some ideas?"
Stiles brought out a sheaf of papers. "I certainly do!" He waved the papers. "I know you'd tell me to do what I want but, well, I want you to be happy there, too! So you should have at least some input."
Peter looked pleased at being included that way. Stiles knew it was something Peter never expected but appreciated.
Stiles dropped down next to Peter on the couch. "Tell me if there's anything you hate!"
Peter dropped a soft kiss on Stiles' temple. "I doubt that you'd choose something I'd hate, but let's see what you have."
