Work Text:
Jude was sitting on the couch with Chase when Chase suddenly turned to him and spoke. “I think I should get going. I don’t want to get home after dark.” Jude’s eyes widened with panic and fear as he frantically tried to think of a way to keep Chase with him. As Chase stood up from the couch, grabbed his things, and walked toward the door, Jude instinctively grabbed his arm, shaking and on the verge of tears.
He looked up at Chase, his eyes filling with tears, struggling to get words out. “Please, Chase, please don’t leave me here by myself. Just take me with you. Don’t leave me with her!” His voice, filled with desperation, revealed the depth of his distress. The panic and pain in Jude’s eyes worried Chase, but he didn’t know how to help him. He felt helpless, uncertain if he could ever save him from this suffering. Still, he knew he had to try.
