    Fallen Captain AU where Ambrosius comes to his realization sooner, and deserts the Institute to join Ballister & Nimona at the Lair. An exploration of his relationships, and a study of identity and role in society.

    Ballister wraps Ambrosius’s hair around his fist as he straddles his lap, slamming his hand down to the ground and bringing Ambrosius’s head with it. There’s not much Ambrosius can do to get out of the situation—his sword is out of reach, and there’s a fluttering in his chest from the exertion of the fight. Though, there’s also the fact that Ballister is looking at him like that, skin flushed with a drop of sweat trailing downwards on his throat that disappears under black plates of armor. Hot air from Ballister’s breaths warm Ambrosius’s face, and the heat in Ballister’s eyes changes from anger to a different kind of intensity.
