the only people left who'd even look me in the eye

Work Text:

Thailand is supposed to be a respite. But your older brother, Timothy Ratliff himself, has been acting strangely. He takes his phone, his wife's phone, and the kids you love more than yourself phones. He's paranoid. It's making you paranoid.

He wants to take yours, too. A grown woman on her third divorce to shitty older men, you refuse. He drags you outside, where the sun blisters on your skin, and you two fight. You throw your hands up. You argue about something so pointless, but you are his baby sister.

It's him, your brother, then you, a mirror of your niece and nephews, except you and your brother switched. Despite the age gap, despite it all, you were closer to Timothy. You admired him. Sometimes, you did a lot more than admire him, with him. He's your first love. It's forbidden, something that'd shun you. Piper looks up to you. Victoria loves you as a sister-in-law. So when you get closer, you don't pause. You continue arguing, hurling insults only a sister can throw at a brother.

You point to him. Closer. An unholy bride and groom. He kisses you, or you kiss him. You hardly notice the door.

Notes:

Saxon jumpscare at the end.
