Dunk flopped onto his bed, phone balanced on his chest, thumb hovering over Joong’s name. He sighed dramatically, scrolling through their old chats, smiling to himself.
if you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
He hit send before his nerves could stop him.
Moments later — ding!
where are you?
Dunk blinked, sitting up. That wasn’t the answer he expected.
at home, obviously. why?
because wherever you are, that’s where I wanna be 😏
Dunk pressed a hand over his face, trying not to laugh.
are you flirting with me right now?
depends. is it working? 😘
bold of you to assume you can just show up here and win me over.
who said anything about just showing up? I come bearing snacks. and charm. lots of charm.
snacks, maybe. charm? debatable.
oh come on, Dunk. you’ve been in love with me since forever.
excuse me??? who’s in love with who here?
I mean, I’m definitely in love with you. just waiting for you to catch up, slowpoke. 💕
Dunk buried his face in a pillow, heart racing.
you’re ridiculous.
you love it.
I tolerate it. barely.
okay, okay. let me prove it. check your door.
Dunk’s eyes widened. “No way,” he whispered, scrambling off the bed, practically tripping as he ran to the door.
He swung it open — and there was Joong. Hair a little messy, a bag of snacks in one hand, and that same mischievous grin Dunk always pretended to be annoyed by but secretly adored.
“Delivery for the most gorgeous man in the city,” Joong announced dramatically, holding out the snacks. “That’s you, by the way.”
Dunk burst out laughing. “Oh my god, Joong.”
Joong stepped closer, smirking. “Told you — charm. You can’t resist me.”
Dunk crossed his arms, trying to suppress the grin tugging at his lips. “You’re impossible.”
Joong leaned in slightly, voice dropping just enough to make Dunk’s heart jump. “Yeah, but you’re smiling right now, aren’t you?”
Dunk huffed, cheeks turning pink. “Shut up and get in here, idiot.”

Sunlight peeked through the curtains, washing the room in soft gold. Dunk stirred, blinking awake. Something warm and heavy was wrapped around him, holding him tight.
Joong.
He smiled sleepily, feeling Joong’s slow breaths against the back of his neck.
“Mmm, you’re awake,” Joong murmured, voice thick with sleep. His arm tightened around Dunk’s waist. “Good. You’re trapped now.”
Dunk laughed softly, wriggling slightly. “Joong, you’re like a giant blanket.”
Joong grinned against his shoulder. “Yeah, and you love it.”
“Debatable.”
“Liar.”
They settled back into the blankets, legs tangled, the quiet hum of morning outside. Dunk let out a deep sigh, content.
“…Hey,” Joong whispered after a moment, “if you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?”
Dunk froze, a sudden laugh bubbling up from his chest. “Seriously?”
Joong smiled sleepily. “Yeah. Answer me.”
Dunk turned slightly, just enough to meet Joong’s warm, half-lidded gaze. His heart softened.
“Where are you?” Dunk whispered.
Joong blinked, then grinned wide, pulling Dunk closer until they were nose-to-nose. “Right here, obviously.”
Dunk smiled, eyes crinkling. “Then… I’d go wherever you are.”
Joong let out a soft laugh, pressing his forehead to Dunk’s. “Best answer.” He brushed a kiss against Dunk’s lips, lingering just long enough to make Dunk’s heart flip.
And as they melted back into the blankets, laughter spilling between them, Dunk thought — yeah.
No matter where in the world he could go, there was only one place that mattered.
Where Joong was.

Two years later.
Dunk stood on a narrow street in Florence, squinting at the map on his phone, the Italian sun warming his skin. He sighed. “Okay, we are officially lost.”
Joong appeared at his side, two gelatos in hand, grinning like he didn’t have a care in the world. “Correction: you’re lost. I’m just here for the ice cream.”
Dunk rolled his eyes, taking the cone Joong offered. “I should’ve left you at the hotel.”
Joong leaned in, kissing Dunk’s cheek quickly. “Nah, you’d miss me too much.”
Dunk laughed, his heart still doing that little flip it had been doing for years now. “You’re ridiculous.”
“Yeah, but you love it.”
As they wandered hand in hand through the streets, laughing and teasing and stopping for photos, Dunk thought back to that first text conversation, the night Joong had showed up at his door with snacks and that stupid grin.
if you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
He smiled to himself, squeezing Joong’s hand a little tighter.
Wherever Joong was —
That’s exactly where he wanted to be.
