His official title, given by Lord Megatron himself, is super secret Decepticon spymaster extraordinaire. Ballpoint was given a whole ceremony when he was bestowed the title. Though it had to be kept under wraps, Megatron didn’t want the other Decepticons thinking he had a favorite. This is why only Ballpoint attended the ceremony. This is also why Megatron acts like he doesn’t exist. It all has to be kept a secret.
Megatron is really big on keeping secrets. He takes his job seriously. He even left Ballpoint on the Ark after they crashed. He wants to keep the identity of his spymaster away from even the other Decepticons. If Ballpoint were an amateur, he would’ve thought that Megatron had forgotten him. Luckily, he’s a super secret Decepticon spymaster extraordinaire who can understand his order without even being told. Megatron left him on the Ark, so he could get straight to work.
Ballpoint had been hiding in the Ark’s vents when he accidentally set off the ship’s alarm system. Now, super secret Decepticon spymaster extraordinaires don’t usually get caught, but a part of being a master is knowing that you can always grow. He’d been on his stakeout for weeks; a con’s luck can only last for so long. He was almost in the clear, but Prowl had managed to capture him
It had been a tough interrogation. He almost broke, but in the end, he never spilled a word of information to the Autobots. Not even when the entire Autobot high command tried to break him. Ballpoint was so shut tight that the Autobots gave up. They sent him back to Megatron, who was forced to downplay his position, so that the Autobots wouldn’t demand any ransom.

Optimus was made aware that Prowl had captured what he believed to be a Decepticon spy hiding in the air vents of the Ark. He had expected one of Soundwave’s cassettes; that’s not what he walked in on. Prowl was trying to question the smallest bot he’s ever seen while Jazz was turned away, trying not to laugh.
Prowl heard him come in, “Prime, this is the spy we found in the vents.
“I can see,” he responded, “Has he said anything?”
“No,”
“And I never will!” the little bot shouted.
Admittedly, Optimus found the Decepticon to be very amusing, but still, he was found sneaking around in their vents. He collected himself in order to start his own interrogation.
“I’ll take it from here, Prowl.” He kneeled down to get on the Decepticon’s level, “Now, we’ll start slow. What’s your name?”
“Ballpoint,”
“Nice to meet you, Ballpoint. My name is Optimus Prime. We want to know how long you’ve been here,”
“Like, I’d tell you that. A super secret Decepticon spymaster extraordinaire never reveals his secrets,”
“A super secret Decepticon spymaster extraordinaire?”
“Yes, and no, this super secret Decepticon spymaster extraordinaire does not give out autographs to Autobots ,” Optimus can hear Jazz stifling laughter. He’s never been happier to have been wearing his battle mask.
“So you are a Decepticon spy,”
“That’s classified information.”
Optimus sighed and rubbed his face. He comm-ed Jazz and Prowl to meet them outside. He told Ballpoint they’d be right back. When they got into the hallway, it was silent for a bit. Then Optimus spoke,
“He’s nonsensical,” both Prowl and Jazz nodded in agreement.
“It’s been a day since we woke up here. There’s nothing he could’ve heard that would help Megatron. I know it’s not really protocol, but do you think we should give him back to the Decepticons?” Jazz suggested.
Prowl protested, “He’s still a Decepticon. We should see how they react to seeing that we’ve captured him. What do you think, Prime?”
“I agree with both of you. We should call the Decepticons to give him back. Ballpoint is defenseless and clearly not all there in the processor.”
And with that they took Ballpoint to Teletran-1, and called Megatron. He responded with his usual taunting, but he was confused when they revealed that the Autobots had captured his spy.
“Spy? All my cons are accounted for,”
“Don’t bother Megatron, we have him right here,” Optimus gestured for Prowl to show Megatron Ballpoint.
“Who’s that?”
“He says his name is Ballpoint, and he claims to be a Decepticon. Look at his logo,”
“Hold on a moment,” Megatron seemingly turned off his microphone, but Optimus could still see him. From what Optimus could infer, he thinks that Megatron asked Soundwave to look up if Ballpoint was a Decepticon.
“Looks like you’re not lying, Optimus. This Ballpoint really is a Decepticon,”
“Yes, and we want to return him. We think it would be best for Ballpoint if he were with you,”
“Is this a trick?”
“I assure you, this is not. What could we have possibly planned in the single day since we all got here? I ask you, Megatron, to send somebot over and collect your missing soldier. You know where we live. We’ll be waiting.” and with that Optimus hung up on Megatron.
Optimus was very happy when Laserbeak came to pick up Ballpoint. The Decepticons would be a better place for him. The Autobots were not equipped to have any prisoners, let alone one that could walk through the bars. He would be upping their security if Prowl had not already started.
