Kiss me now. . . Or never

Summary:

Tony never really got to see Jaime's tattoos much since it was so chilly out, but it felt like a miracle in itself seeing them now. They still looked so vibrant and new despite him getting the work done awhile back, long enough for them to be well over the healing process. He couldn't help but stare at them, to the point he hadn't even noticed Jaime had stopped speaking.

"Umm.. Tony." His eyebrows raised and Tony stopped his staring with a silent 'oh' to himself, his eyes frantically finding somewhere else to look as his face turned a pretty shade of pink.

Work Text:

Aggressive droplets of rain poured from the clouds that seemed to be scattered all over the gray sky as Jaime and Tony were forced to remain inside Jaime's cramped apartment that was clearly in no condition to be having guests over.

Jaime and Tony had only just recently started to commit to each other in a serious relationship, and Jaime had planned a jam packed day for only their second date together, but, obviously, those plans had been postponed when he woke up to pitter patters on his apartment building's rooftop and raindrops on his windows. Now he sat beside Tony on his couch that was just barely suitable for two as they tried to figure out how to pass the time together.

"Well... I have a lot of discs, so maybe some movies? Orrr maybe we could paint.. I think I have watercolors.." Jaime continued to think out loud while Tony's eyes absentmindedly explored the new environment. With how long they've been friends, it surprised him that this was his first time actually being inside Jaime's space. It definitely wasn't the neatest, and there were things cluttering every counter and corner, but he was sure it looked great whenever Jaime got the motivation to clean it up since he was a bit of a clean freak.

After Tony looked around, his eyes came down to Jaime himself, admiring his outfit from head to toe before his gaze lingered on his tattooed arm.

He never really got to see his tattoos much lately since it was so chilly out, but it felt like a miracle in itself seeing them now. They still looked so vibrant and new despite him getting the work done awhile back, long enough for them to be well over the healing process. He couldn't help but stare, to the point he hadn't even noticed Jaime had stopped speaking.

"Umm.. Tony." His eyebrows raised and Tony stopped his staring with a silent 'oh' to himself,  his eyes frantically finding somewhere else to look as his face turned a pretty shade of pink. "Hey wait, I didn't say you had to stop." Jaime moved his arm from his side, as if signaling to Tony he could take a closer look, or even touch if he wanted to. Something about the thought of Tony being touchy feely on him made his brain fuzzy. He silently hoped for it.

Tony was still so hesitant, even after Jaime made it clear that he was okay with him touching and staring, because he never really knew what he was cool with and what he wasn't. Nevertheless, he always imagined Jaime to be the type of guy to be real forward about that stuff. Tony moved just a bit closer to Jaime, to the point their legs touched, before he lightly felt on Jaime's tattooed arm.

Jaime's body was so warm in contrast to Tony's, and he felt delusional to think it was because of him when Jaime was always naturally warm most of the time. Tony rested his head lightly on Jaime's shoulder almost instinctively as he continued to make tiny observations about him. His skin was so smooth, yet he could still feel a tiny bit of arm hair fuzz. Jaime's skin was really nice to touch and trace.

"You smell really good." Tony commented, nuzzling his head further on his shoulder to get better inhales of his scent. Jaime would've combed a hand through Tony's hair if he wasn't so busy touching on him. Feeling Tony's touch was much different now that they were dating compared to when they were just close friends. Their old touch was playful and typical, this touch was intimate and new, definitely something to grow into.

"Aw, thanks baby. I didn't even put on cologne today.. I must just be a naturally good smelling guy huh?" Jaime played off how nervous he felt after calling Tony baby like a champion... Tony did not. He was so hot, so shaky, and he hadn't even realized how much he liked Jaime using pet names with him until he'd actually started. "Yeah.. baby."

Tony's attempt at using the pet name made Jaime laugh to himself, appreciating the effort. "Come on Tones, that was so forced." As Jaime said that, Tony finally let his arm go, which eventually allowed Jaime's hand to play in Tony's hair. "You know im not good at this stuff Hime.." Jaime wrapped his tattooed arm around Tony's shoulder and twirled some of his wavy hair around his fingers. He liked how soft and clean his hair felt. Wash day must've been recent.

"Maybe the name stuff just isn't your thing." Jaime paused, but soon added onto his sentence before Tony could say anything. "But that's completely fine yknow? You can call me whatever you want babe." Words came out of his mouth so effortlessly. He knew exactly what to say and how to say it. He knew how to reassure him in the sweetest, most gentle ways. Tony's stomach twisted and turned and he got so nervous his throat grew tight as a single thought swam in his mind.

He lifted his head from off Jaime's shoulder and turned to face him directly, despite the fact his face was burning hot, and looking at Jaime directly was enough to make him pass out from how attractive he looked. From his expressive eyes, to the arch of his nose, to his glossy lips that just screamed 'KISS ME!'. He was drop dead gorgeous without even trying.

"You're.. you're so pretty Jaime." Tony pursed his lips as he realized his little mistake while complimenting him, and he frantically tried to correct himself. "Handsome! I meant to say handsome." Tony's correction made Jaime smile and cup his cheeks, admiring his nervous wide eyes that seemed to be more expressive than they looked. "I think I like pretty more. It's cute."

Jaime's thumb brushed across Tony's thin lips that lacked much moisture, but not to the point they were chapped. It made him think about how he always made it a point to keep his lips moisturized... for times like this. "Can I?" He looked down at Tony's lips, and then back at his eyes. In all reality, Jaime had wanted to kiss Tony since the day Tony had built up the courage to ask him out. He liked that Tony was willing to step way out of his comfort zone for him and do things he wouldn't've even thought to consider doing. He found that trait very endearing.

"Oh.. of course. Yes please." Tony's shaky tattooed hands went to Jaime's face, much like Jaime's were on his, before their lips met. It was soft and gentle, but with Tony's lack of kissing experience, it wasn't exactly perfect. Jaime let the kiss linger a little longer before he pulled away, though not very far, from Tony's lips.

He wanted to address Tony's subpar kissing skills in a way that wouldn't be hurtful, since it wasn't all bad, and a smile instantly rose on his rosy face when he thought of something. "Tony.. I just got the best. idea. ever." His hands moved from Tony's burning hot cheeks to his stiff shoulders in a single movement as he spoke, as if he were attempting to startle him into asking what his idea was. "Umm.. what is it?" His voice was a lot quieter than before because his nerves and the aftershock of kissing Jaime were still lingering, and his hands moved from Jaime's cheeks as much as they wanted to stay put.

Tony admired how quick Jaime could go from being sincere and loving to loud and playful, like he flips a switch at the perfect time every time. "We should have the perfect makeout sesh." Tony's eyes widened at the idea of making out with Jaime rather than just kissing him. There was a clear difference between the two.

"Yeah! Yes.. yes let's do that." Tony answered almost immediately, and he was embarrassed to have sounded so desperate for more time with Jaime's lips on his, but he liked how Jaime's face lit up after he'd agreed. "Siiiick!" Jaime shifted, slightly repositioning himself on the couch before his hands went back up to Tony's face. This time, his cheeks weren't as warm and hot as before.

"Alright.. if we want this to be perfect you can't be stiff." Jaime's thumb gently brushed against Tony's cheek. "You were kinda just... frozen in place. I don't mind if you touch and feel." Tony felt awkward when it came to touching, but it wasn't like he didn't want to touch and feel on Jaime. Some underlying paranoia that he'd do something Jaime didn't like was enough to be entirely hesitant.

For this kiss, Tony decided to initiate, leaning in to bring his lips to Jaime's as one of his hands, much less shaky this time, came up to his cheek. As they kissed, Tony's other hand was glued to Jaime's waist, slightly testing his limits when his hand slipped under his shirt just a bit. He didn't protest, but Tony still made sure not to bother putting his whole hand under.

"Mmm.. see? That was a lot better." Jaime said after their lips eventually broke apart. Kissing Jaime felt like pure bliss, and Tony couldn't help but wonder how he was so fucking good at it. "Oh! One more thing, can you put your lips like mine?" Jaime made a face, and he knew it would be really stupid to imitate, but Tony still tried to without laughing. "Alright this is it Tones. This better be perfect."

Without another word, their lips crashed against eachother again, and oddly enough, this time their kiss was a lot more fast paced, but somehow still rather intimate. Tony moved into Jaime's body like they were connecting puzzle pieces, and he made sure to move around and feel on Jaime as needed so he wasn't so stiff while they made out. It was lengthy, but the second they pulled apart it felt as if it had only been for a few seconds.

"Jeez Tony... we might have to do this more often.." a stupid grin reached his face as he nudged Tony's arm, which only caused him to let out an embarrassed laugh. It relieved Tony to no end that he'd done everything right, and that Jaime had actually enjoyed kissing him. That was a goal he'd been praying to accomplish since day one. "I could kiss you for like.. ever."

Tony's head returned to Jaime's shoulder, trying to get back comfortable like he was before. "Let's do it then. Let's kiss all night."

Jaime properly laid down on the couch, bringing Tony down with him as they curled up and cuddled together, warm in each others arms as they exchanged lazy kisses and slowly drifted off to the soft sound of raindrops outside.
