Summary
Pressured by mounting attacks from the aggressive land of Sound in the west, the sun-kissed land of Fire seeks an alliance with the elusive snow elves of the north so that they can both protect their borders together. As a gesture of goodwill, the snow elf prince himself, Hatake Kakashi, offers his hand in marriage to strengthen the alliance. As an equal gesture of goodwill, the land of Fire offers their prime minister's son as his husband.

I blink, alarm bells ringing at the back of my head. He did mention something about me being single earlier.
“No way,” I hear myself say, head shaking in denial. “No fucking way. Why am I the one being served on a platter? Shouldn’t we be offering this guy a wife instead?”
“Don’t be absurd, Iruka,” dad counters. “Everyone knows the snow prince is gay.”
I choke on my saliva. Literally. It tries to go down the wrong hole and I sputter, then cough to clear up my airways.
“Wh– What??” I ask, hacking and wheezing.
“I said the prince is gay. So we’re offering him a husband.”
“So you’re just going to toss two gay men together and hope for the best?” I squeak, my voice faint.
