Marry Me (Billy Russo X Reader)

Summary:

I couldn't think of much for this chapter but I do absolutely LOVE Billy Russo so I wanted to write another chapter for him. I know that in cannon he is shitty as hell but I like my little la la land where maybe if he had someone close to him, he would have been a better person. I know he's a sociopath.

Work Text:

“Billy!”you shouted across your shared living room.
“What? Can I not say that?”

You and Billy had moved in together after you had already been dating for about a year, it was the longest relationship he had ever had. He usually didn’t go for anything long term because of his job and how dangerous it could be for those he cared about. But he told you he couldn’t take it anymore, he couldn’t take the secretiveness of it all and couldn’t take pretending to be single. You couldn’t either because you were afraid of it taking a toll on your relationship.

But this was far more than you were ever expecting. He told you that he wanted to marry you and you couldn’t seem to process that. It wasn’t something that the two of you had even talked about. Even three years together didn’t quite make you think that he would still want to stick around. You knew all too well how he was before you met and you still had an irrational fear of him going back to those same habits.

The sharply dressed ex-soldier crossed the room and took you by the waist, pulling you close to him. “Are you saying no?’he asked.
“You could be risking your job by even being with me, much less marrying me. You know that.”
“I don’t care. No job is worth pretending that I’m not painfully in love with you.”
“Even one that got you the standing you’ve wanted your whole life?”
“Even that.”he whispered as he leaned in for a kiss.

Against your previous statement and inner panic, you returned the kiss like you always did, his grip on your waist tightened slightly as he wrapped his arms around you.

“You’re worth the world. You’re my world, mi vita and I don’t want to keep just pretending that I don’t want to take this any further, okay?”he whispered when he broke the kiss.
“You really just want one person the rest of your life?”
“I want you the rest of my life. I have since the first time you kissed me.”

You felt your cheeks heat up slightly at his comment and kissed him a few times to hide it. Even after you’d been with him for so long, he still had the ability to make your knees weak. You knew that despite your anxieties about his safety and his loyalty, you would never find someone like him again.

“Okay, okay, yes I’ll marry you. I kind of like the idea of being Ms. Y/N Russo, anyway.”you said.

His face lit up, a bright grin spreading across it and making his eyes shine like stars. It was your favorite when you could make him smile like that. He swept you right off your feet and set you on the arm of your couch, kissing you deeply as he reached into his pocket to get the ring out. You bit your lip in slight anticipation as he slid the ring on your finger.
