It was supposed to be a calm day in the forest with the twin legendary dragons but it very quickly became anything but.
N laid curled in between the two, Reshiram's soft fur-like feathers a nice contrast to Zekrom's hard plates though neither was uncomfortable. He’d found himself like this more and more often as time went on, taking naps and lazing in the heat just on the right side of overwhelming they both produced. It was nice.
Aurora perked up suddenly, the white dragon staring intently at a tree as if there was something there N couldn’t see being quickly followed in their suspicion by Thunder, the black dragon curling closer in a way to protect N’s drastically more fragile body.
A bright light split a small gash in the nearby tree, opening just enough for a tall white and gold pokemon to step through. They were tall, much taller than N though not quite as tall as the two dragons and surrounded by a slowly fading golden aura. It looked like they were wearing fancy gold detailed boots on their thin legs which ended in softened points, a large golden ring-like formation curled around their body.
Arceus, N was quickly able to identify despite not having ever seen any depictions of the creator pokemon likely because of the connection from Zekrom. A flash of fear ran through him causing him to try and hide himself in between the legendary dragons which failed spectacularly.
Aurora and Thunder relaxed at the sight of their creator shifting slightly to force N into a partly hidden position that still let him see. It was somewhat reassuring though they seemed much too relaxed for N’s comfort, fully aware that the god could smite him on a whim if he so much as moved too fast.
The god didn’t seem offended, instead quite amused by the action having grown used to most humans being afraid of them. “Hello my children and their little human.” They spoke in an almost airy ethereal way even if it was hums and purs, the bit resembling hair on the back of their head flowing despite there being no wind.
The dragons greeted back in equally relaxed hums, Aurora nudging N a bit with their snout. He made a noise of discomfort and fear which the dragons recognised, Thunder pressing their head to N’s back in a well established form of solace.
“Go on little one it's okay.” They purred the feeling rumbling through N’s body in an attempt to calm him down. He glanced between the three for a moment, Arceus patient as always waiting for the human to understand what’s going on and respond.
“Hi.” He squeaked in pokespeak which surprised the god causing them to stand straight for a moment and make N flinch at the sudden movement.
“Oh I wasn’t made aware you spoke our language.” They hummed walking leaserly over. Up close they were more beautiful then N had ever imagined, their skin reflecting a rainbow of colors on tiny almost invisible hairs making them glow with the sun on top of their already minorly glowing body. Despite their imposing figure and powers they looked quite soft like they’d be deceptively squishy. N wondered for a brief moment if they could read his thoughts.
N remained tensed as they approached until the creator pokemon was able to press their head into his chest letting out a soft pur in reassurance. All at once he relaxed, bringing a hand up slowly to pet at their head which they accepted.
He was right, they were slightly squishy and very soft to the touch like a lot of pokemon that looked tougher than they felt. Something about their presence begged N to give in and let himself be toyed with, putting himself completely at the god’s mercy. It didn’t even really sound like a bad idea either with how the god was acting, pressing into him and doing their best to get him relaxed.
Abruptly a spike of something ran through his head dragging thoughts and memories up to the surface of his mind he would have rather stayed buried, he began to squirm and whine as he was forced to remember and experience certain things all over again. Tears gathering in his eyes and threatening to fall down his face as the god kept looking for something.
“Arceus stop.” Thunder growled, pushing the gods' side a bit to get them to let up. They conceded, the feeling letting up on N’s mind until he calmed mostly, still feeling the god rooting around a bit but not pulling things up anymore.
“Ah apologies, sometimes I forget that mortals have a bad reaction to that.” Arceus’ tail twitched in what seemed to be embarrassment, the god slowly pulling back in order to tap N on the head in what he assumed was an apology.
“What was that?” N rumbled rubbing at his eyes to get rid of the moisture that had gathered, the feelings the memories had caused already fading into the background as Aurora and Thunder nuzzled at him comfortingly.
“Humans are complicated beings that have a habit of lying even when it's pointless. I've found it's just easier and faster if I find their intentions and beliefs for myself.” The god leaned back down pressing their head to N’s chest again. “And what honorable beliefs you have little one.” They began purring again, settling down fully into a lying position which put more weight on N not that he minded.
“Okay…” N hummed, petting Arceus again he enjoyed the feeling of their skin and small hairs against his hand. The gods' digging had drained a lot of N’s energy leaving him tired and nearly falling asleep from all the purring and warmth, his eyelids getting heavier the longer they layered him with attention.
After a while Arceus pulled away, standing to leave so they could check on their other children. The glowing was back though softer around the edges
“I’ll be back, little one.” They purred at N’s hazy whine, tapping him on the head again. “You’re under my protection now kit, for as long as you live.”
N smiled awkwardly at them, his face not cooperating the way he wanted it to in his sluggishness, shifting to shove his face in Aurora’s feathers and promptly falling asleep. The god cooed at him quietly, nodding to their children before stepping into a new tear in reality and vanishing in a flash of light.
