Summary
“Well?” Kaito says, half-demand, half-expectation. There is so much hope in his eyes.
Seiya imagines himself stepping forward into Kaito’s space, taking his hands. He imagines letting himself have what he wants. But terror overwhelms him, and Seiya clears his throat.
“Kaito, I’m…I’m truly flattered. I respect you as a teammate and friend very much. But… I’m sorry,” Seiya says. “I don’t feel the same.”
Kaito confesses and Seiya rejects him, sending Seiya into a spiral as he grapples with what he wants, what he feels he deserves, and the space in between.
